Cool! Yeah if you get the chance while your tank is off, take your airbox out completely and you'll see a firewall made of cardboard separating you from the front cylinders. Most people I've seen including myself choose to route the coils under there and screw them into the cardboard using decking or drywall screws. There's already holes in the coils! Just be careful not to use ones that are too long or you'll "screw" up your radiator fans. :eagerness: little dad joke...lol

I looked into that but have concerns of those coils then not being grounded in such an arrangement. I may make some sort of bracket that grounds them to a frame or make a ground circuit daisy-chaining all the coils. Anyway much progress was made last night. Our Skunk-Works garage did some rather extensive modifications. I havent been able to find another example on the world wide web yet...

Been Ebaying parts the last couple weeks. More disassembling getting ready for powder. Im learning a lot about parts ive mostly been too apprehensive to delve into (final drive, engine, wiring, etc.). Thinking of rearsets... apparently CBR900rr's are a direct bolt on ( might need some shimming). Any good words about Gilles?

Some end-of-the-world prophet on VFR discussion seems to think my supports for the seat frame are going to snap off at a non-oportune time... Ive asked for specific examples but he has n't responded. If anyone has some words of experience (or a structural engineering degree) I would appreciate you weighing in on this subject. I'm sure there are good people on that forum too but DAMN, WHAT A BUNCH OF WHINERS!!!

Nice yab on the powder coating, thats the only time your gona be allowed to bring motorcycle parts into the house :pound: Let us know how it is re-installing the rear bearings/hub assembly.

I think you will be alright regarding the sub frame unless you carry someone like Molly from the mike and molly television show. :loco:

side bar: I had to clean a some cylinders after I honed them, what better place to do it but the kitchen sink, while I was there, I scoped oot a perfect long bristle brush to clean the insides. Well; Just make sure the little missus and your mother are not around, because your never gona hear the end of it. Not that there was a trace of grease on it when I was done mind you.

The coils do not need to be grounded. Mine are currently zip tied out of the way up behind the frame. Runs fine, they don't get hot or anything from poor grounds.
