thanks, I go thru it all again. Im not really sure there is a reliable way to check a CDI box.

I checked the resistance of the pulser (but have not done a visual), Coils (priamary and secondary)

We'll see how it is tomorrow when cold, if its still DOA, then its not heat related

then we'll throw a couple of new plugs in and see if that cures it (again)-- if it does then I have too figure out why its eating plugs so fast.

    stay tuned

Man, I can't stand electrical. I feel for you stray. I had had misfires and non-fires with my 88 CBR600 and the more throttle I gave the bike, the more it stalled. Not saying that is your issue, but the CDI did cause the weirdest shit. FYI, that was the official diag from Honda shop, not my diag. But it did fix the problem if they really replaced it. I was 18 and didn't know jack.

That is usually the final diagnosis in most analog / early digital ignition Service Manuals...

"If everything else tests good, replace CDI."

Yea, I guess its a possibility.

This morning I just picked up 4 new plugs. plan is to fire the bike up and see if it runs bad when cold or when hot. either way once it shits the bed, ill change one of the plugs in a dead cylinder and see what happens.

If its a CDI, I wouldn't expect a new plug to immediately remedy a dead cylinder (??)

I still think I may have a fuelling issue thats fuel fouling plugs or some such thing.

I agree. It's the only thing so far that still explains all of the symptoms and their timing.

If changing the plugs "fixes" it while it's still hot/warm, pretty good indication.

Well, new plugs did F*$@K all to help me. She was running on 3 cyl today right from cold. I then swapped all 3 plugs and didnt get much difference at all.

Pulled the pulser cover off (no flywheel on these, its one pulser and 2 horns on a magnet thats on the end of the crank). Anyway it all looks good in there, and it tests fine.

Im back to the fueling being a possibility, or CDI.

The suspect plugs were not "Super Wet" when I pulled them, id expect more fuel soaking on a cold start with choke.

I am geeing some exhaust pop and the odd flame from the muffler if I wick it up on the throttle as well

Yea, well, took a break from trouble shooting this afternoon and decided to start the decals. I got the big ones on the upper fairing done, looks good.

I know the yellow decal under the light looks off centre, but its not (just the camera angle)

Anyone got opinions on DynoJet Kits ? there NOS set for my GSR on Ebay for decent $

Ive read they're a waste of $ and the just re jetting is a better bet.

Im interested since I can get jets, needle and emulsion tubes in one Dynojet kit for far less $ than trying to buy stuff separately. Plus OEM is crazy $ and the aftermarket stock repair kits seem to be a huge gamble re quality.

I have a set of Orings and Seals coming for the carbs, but now I 'may" need a reliable set of Emulsion tubes, needles, Jets, fuel needle valve etc etc.

Maybe going overboard on the carbs but if im pulling them off again (3rd times a charm) I'd like to replace as much as I can with decent quality but not break the bank.

I don't have very much experience with Dynojet kits on my personal stuff, but we installed some over the years at the Honda shop in the 90s.

There may be some opinions on what their jetting philosophy was, but I think the quality was there and we were able to tune the bikes to where they ran good with the stuff. All plug reading and test rides.

We did start going more with Factory Pro kits when they came on the scene.

I installed them on all my bikes back in the day. All have been removed. I mean they are good quality if you want parts and like you said less expensive. Honestly my bikes run better with the stock set up and filter.

All my bikes are “ pretty much “ stock except for one of my CBX’s ….

I ran those in my race SV and had no quality issues. Only really had to re-jet for the altitude in Utah (Miller Motorsports Park). But I was running FCS flatties. I miss the chatter!

thanks guys, I did read that you cannot mix and match dynojet emulsion tubes and Mikuni jets etc, its all OEM or all Dynojet.

Its the emulsion tubes and needles I really want as I expect mine maybe worn (common issue on the GSXR im told), I may roll the dice on a set from Cruzin image (their o rings are shyte, and the jets are not always accurately stamped, but I have a quality set of o rings coming from elsewhere), or I may try Keyster (mixed reviews there too).

May salvage the Emulsion tubes and needles from Cruzinimage for $50 and see if I can find Mikuni jets from someplace else at a reasonable price. OEM emulsion tubes are $50 each here and needles $17 each. + tax. --- Madness

by the way, litetek.co make exceptional carb gaskets and o-rings, ive ordered them before, good prices too -- buy with confidence fellas.

    Jets-R-Us

Genuine and re-pops available in every configuration. Decent prices and reasonable shipping with good order turn around times. I've just stopped doing the eBay gamble for the most part on jets any more.

Check out Factory Pro they have quite a few carb tuning parts and kits for the 93 GSXR 750. I might also run this by Evan Steel, maybe he has some ideas.
