Yo Squirrel Man, can you give me the dims on your credit card float guage? I meant to make a similar gauge, but I put the bike together before I could get the dims. Thanks dude!
Last night I messed with the relay and wiring options. The relay definitely took a poo. Since this is a selling bike eventually, I will just jump it perm and call it good.

Uggg need chain and sprockets now. Costing more than I was hoping to get back together. Here she is as of today. image.jpg Whole front end needs tear down, cleaning, greasing, braided lines ( left over from 750), and finish polishing the mufflers. I feel like the fairing is tilted upwards but I can’t find any bends in the subframe. Head scratcher. image.jpg

It is tilted back a bit to me too. Plus I see you don't have the side brackets installed that attach to the rear of the three holes that mate the lowers. With those installed you might see how far off you are. The mirror mounts are not that strong and are easily bent. They like to bend out of position real easy, but are kinda a pain to get back where they belong. Check the holes and bolts on the bracket where it attaches to the head stay too, sometimes loosening them up and manipulating the whole assembly down can get more movement than you think.

^^Thanks on both accounts! We love where we live. We can just make out the ocean on clear days. Gets foggy.

Alright... anyone have a cheat code on a 520 conversion for the 86 VFR700? IF not, I am going JT front and rear with the 530. JTF339 or JTF339RB front and JTF1334 rear in 530. Trying to keep the budge down so I found a DID 530 o-ring for $77.

Got my chain/sprockets installed. 2 questions. HOLD ON QUESTION 1. JUST FOUND MY PDF THAT I DONT HAVE AT HOME FOR SOME STUPID REASON. :)

    1. My crappy service manual does not list the countershaft sprocket torque. I am thinking around 35ft lbs. Anyone know for suresies? HA! 36-39ft lbs says the pdf.

    2. Master link rivet spread. My motion pro chain kit says as little as .006, max .028. I set to .0115. Aiming for middle of the road. Good or not enough?

530 rear sprocket is heavy AF...just an FYI.
Bike should be ready for CL by next Sunday unless more things need fixing.

It's been a while since I riveted a chain. I think I concentrate more on making sure I'm not over-compressing the 0-rings and making it too stiff, than an actual number. As long as I get good flare expansion, it's not going anywhere.

Yeah, I was always nervous on my race bike because rivet was required, but I never had problem. Thanks for the input!

Test ride went awesome! The engine is definitely noisier at lower RPMs than my 750, but every video sounds the same for the 700, with some ticking to the engine.
Totally revs out and pulls hard. All the lights work. New chain and sprocket are smooth as silk. Transmission is smooth. Gauges work and light up well. No leaks of any kind.
I would say this 700 has been saved from the scrap yard. YAY! IMG_3247.JPG

Hell yes dude. Good job. Fairly fast turn around too. Shit like this always takes longer than you think.

Yay found my top side fairing brackets, so I can keep the little amount of fairing from bouncing around. I also fired up my free vinyl cutter. Limited colors came with it but black works for this project.

Front complete. Don’t care if it not 100% accurate. This bike won’t sell for much most likely, but it was a fun experience.
