Thanks Reg and Lgn...all good points. Like all activities, there is a correct time and place as well as some guidelines that should be adhered to. As is always the case with any activity, there are some people who haven't a clue and give a group of people a bad name and there are people that do the right thing. It is the former group that tends to be noticed. We motorcyclists experience this all the time. All we can do is do the right thing ourself and try to get the word out to the young people/inexperienced people and hope they get it and modify their behavior.
    Thanks kids!
And yes, those are LOVELY heels! Goes great with his eyes!

Did you get hit with speeding and/or passing on the right? I don't know all the traffic laws in CA but I don't want to mess up and get hit with a ticket for passing on the right if it's illegal.

STOOOOK - you finally got nabbed ay? Rats. It happens to us all. I cant believe that poor folks get tickets for barely rolling at a stop sign, when all these mofo's are running red lights and getting away with it. It is frustrating.

On my road bike (pedal bike) I roll through 4 way stops often if they are free. I track stand at red lights, if it is a 3 way red (my right closed) I will ride through it. I got pulled over once for speeding on my pedal bike. I was shocked. I didnt have my license on me. Was told to cool it. Dumb....

Anyway, I hope you get out of jail soon and let me know if we need to bake you a cake with a file in it.

Speeding. Passing in either lane is OK, provided that you do not exceed the posted limit. Of course, if we all demonstrated some common courtesy, there would be no need for passing...

The only reason I passed (I usually avoid passing in the right lane) is that there was a Chevy pickup about 20 to 30 feet behind me, a whole bunch of cars behind him that were following him just about as close, and the semi in the right lane was kicking up tons of dust and debris that I was tired of being pelted with. But I was speeding by a goodly amount. When the officer asked if I knew how fast I was going, my answer was that I was kind of busy trying to get around the dipshit that was causing problems for everybody, and had been for several miles. I think he was sympathetic to my cause, but oh well.

Now if you had the "RoadDog," you would not have the problem of people getting in your way in the first place! Imagine seeing that beast on your tail.

I am not bashing all cyclists,I cycle quite a lot also albeit for recreation and not for commuting so I'm never in the city.
I just think that if a cyclist feels he/she is entitled to be on the street they should follow the rules like the rest of us sorry buggers!
We have door-knobs on bicycles here who organize themselves in huge numbers here and purposefully cause a traffic obstruction in downtown rush-hour traffic...
And what do the cops do about this????
NOTHING..they give them an escort with lights flashing so none of them get run down..
When asked by the media why they feel the need to obstruct traffic and possibly emergency vehicles at critical traffic flow hours they reply:"We ARE the traffic."
So thats why I have a bit of a bone to pick with cyclists who feel they OWN the road and dont feel they should SHARE!!!

I am with you Powerslave. I am often the hardest on the idiot percentage of cyclists because I know better and I feel they are giving us all a bad name. I think we both agree you can't lump all cyclists or all motorcyclists or for that matter all hula dancers in together. It is always a shame when a small minority of a group spoil the party for the well-intentioned majority.

Now, let's all gets along, put on on the grass skirts and HULA, baby!!!
    I love that Hawaiian music!

LOL see what happens when you own a VFR, cost of riding IMO, it's going to happen, just suck it up my friend, more than likely we've all been there.
On the subject of toll fast lanes, Wa. is trying that one up here on for size.

Hey Reg don't feel bad, I've been stopped a many times in my truck as there's no shoulder belt, then they see the lap belt and go, oh... as it's written up here in the wa. rcs if it's not installed from factory you don't have to use one, and in Chev trucks that didn't happen till 67. In my 65 Chev truck it was sorta funny all the times I was asked where's the seat belt? Hey there ain't any.. doesn't mean I can't install em, just never did. I'm also in the believing in having the choice, sorta like a helmet law.
