I saw the picture of the stator & R/R, good idea if you have room, better yet, remove right side panel and inspect stator wires & connector and look for ANY discoloration before you go.

Good point about the Stator Wires Connector.
We can check those when she's here for the Mid Tour Maintenance also.
I have some Blank Terminals, and Crimper, but don't know if they are the same.
Can someone check the Stator Terminal types for that model bike?

I'll make sure to have some handy. Even if they look OK, we can still Solder them.

The Parks are usually where they are cause no one else is there, so Limited Services.
The Visitor Information Building paper posts the weather every morning, using the Environment Web Canada site (fairly accurate).
Rotten Ronnies, Tim Hortons & Starbucks have free WiFi, but then there will be CELL Service too.
Lake Louise has none of those, but does have CELL.
Banfff has Everything (In Banffff No One can hear you Scream, is so Damn Noisey,,..)
Its only between towns that CELL is spotty.

The Lake Louise Tent Camping area is surrounded by a Electrified Fence, so better not be a SleepWalker,,..

Travel Insurance should be purchased. Is about $2/day and includes flying you back and bringing your bike back too.

All USA maps requested now here/ready. Still sourcing the right Oil.

A simple burnishing of the contacts should be OK for awhile. I used an emory board, peel off the rough side and trim to fit female connectors. Flip over and do other side. For the male pins, just burnish both sides. As long as you have bright brass on both contacts you should be good to go. This connector was off my 2003, note slight discoloration in the center. Easy routine maintenance, until you can do the re-wire job properly.

Lol, no sleepwalking here. Great info on the parks, cell service, and weather info though!

I have been looking into travel insurance. What's a good company to go through up there or here in the states? Seems most of them offer packages that include trip cancellation refunds. I definitely don't need that.

Picked up the oil filter today as well as a few other just in case items. No stator and R/R though. I'll take a look at other this weekend.

I wouldn't bother packing an oil filter on your trip. You can get filters for these things anywhere. YOu don't even need to remember the number. They are the same filter on Honda Civics as well and just about all auto-parts stores have a look up list for the filters. Even at Wally World, who does sell Bosch filters which is my preferred filter. Even the rotor and rectifier. Are you going to fix your own if it breaks down? If not, a bike shop can usually get one shipped over night if yours packs it in. Like mine did in Vegas....hated breaking down there, then again in Regina. Loved it there.

That really sucks breaking down twice for the same thing! I would rather break down in Canada than Vegas any day. LOL!

I do not plan on fixing an issue like that by myself. I have only assisted and watched that being done, I do not have the know how to do it on my own. So if that is the issue I would have to get it serviced on the road.

But, I can take a look at it this weekend and assess the situation.

Yes, I planned on bringing the filter with me. I hadn't thought how easy it could be to find one though! Good to knows! :)

Filters are easy to find in these parts - not sure about other areas.

Any local NAPA or Piston Ring will have stock - even Canadian Tire I think. I usually buy Wix from Piston Ring.

You have a place here, Honda Service Guide, and a set of knowledgeable hands if you get stuck and need to do any mechanical work.

I just grabbed this today to stow my camping gear. Large dry bar from cycle gear on sale. Before my tent and cot were simply strapped down with harbor freight bungies.

Nice!! I'm looking for something just like that for my camping supplies...Thermarest, tent, sleeping bag. I figure at least 30L would do it.
The only thing about dry roll bags is there isn't any good way to strap them down. What size is yours there?

The bag is the large Bilt Explorer. It includes tie down straps and a few different D-rings on the bag to clip them to. The opening is just plastic weather stripping you roll over to keep out rain, bag is all rubber. Keep in mind though, I can get away with using the larger bag as the givi rack and cases give more room for support

    Wet Ones

Buddy got some Canoe Bags for his bike:
They are Tough and Water Tight (and yellow). But they probably aren't cheap.
That Kanuck Tyre one looks like a good deal!

I recommended her to bring her own Oil Filter, since I don't know what it is.
I used to do that on long trips and it saved on running around trying to find one, in a town I don't know.
They don't take up any space.
    I keep a list of compatible filters for my old bikes;

    12PSI
    Canadian Tire: 27-5506-6 27-5511-2
    FRAM: PH6010A
    SuperTech: 3593a
    NAPA: 1334 1389
    WIX: 51334
    Purolator: ML16810
    AMSOIL EA020
    EMGO: 10-82200 10-82210

When ever I see one go on sale, I get a bunch.
Yes its the same filter that my 91 Civic Si uses.
I have some on the shelf.
If someone wants to vouch for her that it will work, then it would save her bringing it.
    But I don't know that.

Yeah, I have it so I'll definitely bring it. I like your idea of saving time from running to find one.

I have plenty of space for it so it's no big deal. But it's good to know I could probably find one easy if I'm ever in a pinch.

Love the look of the yellow bags. It would add some heightened visibility as well. I'm running short on time to order things though. Unless it's available on Amazon Prime, I would have to go local.

One of the better bags I've owned. It's very durable and seals well ... just did a quick search online. I can only seem to find these bags here in Canada on google in yellow. Cabelas has some, but they are super expensive in comparison.

    Comfort & Joy

The Thermarest doesn't have to go Inside:
    Just Net It over top.
That leaves more room inside, like for my Favorite Pillow (I'm a suck for Sleeping Comfort).
I even bring Pyjamas,,.. (I know, what an old whus, eh,,..).
If you don't want it to get wet, put a Safeway Bag over it, the net will keep it quiet.

    I prefer to travel light.

BTW. When you are travelling west along Saskatchewan, take a look over your left shoulder at Mount Rushmore. You will have real Canadian Experience.

I've been trying to convince Randy that backpacks suck (even good hiking ones) - especially for distance travelling.

I will never go back to one, personally.
