Shell Rotella motor oil???!!??

Only places I found selling seem to be in Europe & UK (that still Europe?) $9-$11 per liter, more than Amsoil.

 

lol, yeah the guy goes into all kinds of detail, even things like what kind of rods and bearings. Get you geek on for sure.

 

The guy in the article said that Motul 300V was the most expensive oil he has tested. I never seem to see Repsol 4T racing tested,, its even more expensive.

 

The way this is going an oil and filter change is gonna cost as much as re-shimming a Vtec valve train or changing plugs on a Harley.

If we get convinced from the flurry of Amsoil ads to not fight but switch. where can it be bought in Oregon, the land of no sales tax.

 

My sources tell me he copied all that from Knight who got it from SOW.

 

Got a nephew who runs those mud drags on a bike on Kauai. I hope your bud ain't running any other than ethanol in his rig. Wood alcohol is cheaper but toxic. Alky mixed with nitro is right now.. Some of the fast guys run 100% nitro.. I think they have spare engines and lots of pesos.

Hey, I use Castrol RT and its made for motor bikes not a truck-makes any cents to use a oil made for bikes? Dum Fuks, I did try R6 in a tractor and the bike. the bike shifted like crap, worked fine in a tractor. End of story-its cheap stuff for low rpm engines-t6. :blue:each:

But I did read some about the 4 ball wear test among others. And as other's have noted, Amway commissioned the test by the "independent" lab. As far as internet forums go, I'm getting the feeling you can't really trust all the armchair lubrication engineers out there.

Case in point, our resident mad scientist/ mixologist....

I could see it if you sampled and sent in oil for oil analysis and established a baseline to track wear issues. But "iv'e never had problems with it" just doesn't cut it imho.
