Darn, nobody warned me that it was going to be a mini series. I hate waiting to see what happens until next week.

Good luck with the surgery and don't be too proud to hit the morphine button.

Nice write up for one hand.. Hope you recover soon. Remember, when you wake up from surgery.. and your butt is sore... its completely normal.. at least so Ive been told, never having had surgery.

Wow Long. Your sense of adventure puts me to shame. I bow to your Highness.

As far as the healing goes. IF THE DOC SAYS DO NOT RIDE....THEN FOR FUCK SAKE, DO NOT RIDE! Remember when you Jason and I crossed the border and I got pulled in due to all those T3's I was carrying. Well, because I did not listen to the doc and take it easy when I was younger, I pay the price now. And pay a higher price. If I could turn back time, I could have likely rested a couple more weeks and avoided the constant back pain I go through now. And would not have this fucking permanent disability that makes it so I need to carry my pain pills in a gallon jar.

I was hoping to see pix of the ultimate crash that did in the Ultimate rider Long!. I see that it may have been possible for you to touch the ground with both feet when you were in that deep sand!

Park the bikes for a while and heal up my friend. Your family deserves that.

I will help you out. I am having a stiff margarita to help dull your pain. Is it working? If not, I will double the double.

Stick to just the one for now. I suspect they have you on some pretty strong stuff for the first few days. Do and the doc says or I will tell Monique. Heal quick.

Great report Long. Glad you are good after surgery and not in worse shape as much as you were in the dirt. You are a crazy mofo. Rest up.

Holy crap Long, very sorry to hear about your mishap and all the best for a speedy recovery. I can remember riding, or trying to ride, after suffering fractured ribs and how much the bouncing around hurt but I can't imagine what that kind of injury would feel like. My boss just fractured and separated his clavicle and broke 6 ribs in a mountain biking accident (downhill too fast lost control and hit a tree shoulder first) and he says the ribs hurt but the shoulder hurts more because there is no real way to support your arm without putting pressure on it in some way he told me.

As Randy has said, listen to what your doc tells you about staying off the bike for a while. If you ride to soon and mess up the joint then it will never properly heal and it will haunt you for many years to come. Oh, and welcome to the human barometer club. Now that you have broken something you will be able to predict weather changes better than the weather man (and in real time). LOL. Actually, strike that, don't laugh, that may hurt too. Sorry.

    All the best man.

    Bill

The ultimate trail that bite me

After Trona Pinnacles we heading to the famous Paramint Valley, to get down to the valley we have to tackle this trail :potstir:
Here is our ride leader and ultimate sweeper planning on the attack
    [IMG]
My brain say No but my wrist say yes........:hss:
The trail and the viewjust amazing
    [IMG]
The trail start out real nice...as you can see from the pictures
    [IMG]
After this part the trail start to be rough full of gravel and rocks, I lost the GS several time and bang her up real good
(no picture on this part since I am too busy picking up my bike) I manage to make it down to the valley at about a 1/4 mile to the pavement I hit a rock and my front wheel turn side way throwing me over the bar and landed on my shoulder. I get up and check out my body
and found my left arm is in pain as I move my arm up I can feel the collarbone is rubbing :hss: not a good sign
I could not ride on the trail any more so Finn took over my bike and I have to bitch ride out to the road.
Finn and Todd the sweeper two up on my bike and went back to recover Finn bike.
As they return they want to know if I am able to ride back to camp or should they bring the Emergency Team out?
I did not want them to go out of their way so I ask them to help me get on my bike.....
While they holding the bike I then shift in gears and took off, rode over 40 miles back to camp and have one of the Canuk EMT checking me out
    [IMG][/ COLOR]
The people at the rally and on ADV in general are super friendly and supportive, they offer to take me to the hospital which is close to hundred miles away. But I refuse and want to ride home and admit to the ER closer to home. They refuse to let me go by my self which is a good move. I end up two up ride 300 miles back home with one of the rider live in Hollywood. Danny I own you one bud :thumb:
