Here's what the 98-01 looks like:

Nice thing is - it's a two piece - so you don't have to have the passenger on - makes a nice trunk! :)

    Looks great!

Does it keep you off the tank more than the stock seat?

The seat itself fit with no issues the cowl is definately a tighter fit than the oem seat but it fits just fine.

I ordered from Sandhill way back in May at the $320 shipped price. It was out of stock and their in stock dates continually changed. I wasn't in a hurry so I just waited. Well, it finally shipped a week ago and I got it in a few days. I like it so far! Although the dates were always changing, they were always quick to reply to my emails.

Hey, I'd like to get in on this deal as well, black w/ red for an '06. I called them today and they said they might be available toward the end of the month. If you could let me know when you get the email, I'd sure appreciate it.

    Cheers,
    Tom

I did a road trip a couple of weeks ago and discovered that when I'm riding the real twisty stuff I like to be up close hugging the tank. From what I've seen and read, the Sargent seat is built up at the front and would seem to prevent my boys from getting up close and personal with the tank. Any feedback on that?

If you're still in charge of the order I'd like to sign up for one for my 5th gen. I'll take an all black or black with red accents. Please let me know if it's possible to include me or if I need to contact sandhill myself. Thanks.

I just read that you live in Oceanside, me too. Small world.

I found this to be an issue for my style of riding with the Corbin I had (3rd gen), but the Sargent appears to be a lot less exaggerated than the Corbin and on the one I sat on you could still slide up close without discomfort. The Corbin also dropped quite a bit lower so it was harder to get up and over the bars; if I was doing it again IMO the Sargent is a far better design, and without the weight penalty that you get with a Corbin as well - those things are really heavy.

Sorry for the diversion :focus: Carry-on guys. I might be interested in a seat when they come in as well. I am just curious how many seats they will order in, and of what colors?

Just started a new job today with a better company and better pay, I should be able to buy a seat towards the end of the month.

Everyone, please read the thread - when the seats are in, call Sandhills Motorsports and tell them you are part of the Group Purchase at VFRWorld.com - at this point the discount is the discount, we are no longer keeping a formal list - it is open to everyone.

    Thanks,
    Dan
