Jay. You re a sumbich for starting this thread. Every time a new issue arises I am reminded of painful moment in my past.

When I donated bone marrow back in 92, they harvested it through my hip bone at the back. Three simple small punctures from the drill/syringe they used to withdraw the marrow. Did not even warrant a stitch. But they put an Elastoplast bandage about 12 inches square over my back. When they took that of, it was one quick and sudden rip. Holly fuck!. I used to have a hairy lower back. Now I know how a woman feels when she waxes.

Don't forget to drink a LOT of water too. Works almost as good as the prune juice and is important to help keep the liver and kidneys happy with the drugs they have to filter. Randy is really right about food and the pain killers, take them an hour after you eat and most or all of the nausea usually is gone. Heal up buddy.

Jay heal up quick, but be careful with that oxy, it can be bad shit, once I realized what it was doing to me I binned what I had left, the pain I was in was better that the pain the oxy was inflicting on me

1 We survived quite easily as the Hype didn't hold air, rain yes, winds stayed in the 35-40 high, thing was it was some what warm being in the 60s weird

2 Loosely to one side, more left of late

3 Thanks for the thought, But Oh man that's a long list.

4 LOL not so sure wife is tired of the shower aid. ;) I'm turning into quite the PITA.

Finally off the serous pain meds other than an Aleve now and then, not to bad, still can't use my right arm nor sleep worth a darn, actually feels quite useless, pain as sorta slowed down but the ache is surely there. here's the wild part, just when you think all is good make a turn ever so slight the wrong way or think you can push off getting up out the lazy boy and whoa! OUCH! that smarted. so yea i'm in a weird state. I got out today from the house first time in a week. so the spirits are ok over all.

Two things are working against your bowels. Being put out on general anesthesia shuts down all of your body except heart and breathing. So, food stops digesting and the resultant plugged up system. Also, opiod drugs slow things down significantly. So, things just don't move. Water and fiber are your friend. ; )

I'm one of the small population that morphine doesn't work on....at all. Last time I had to be cut on, they had to go to dilaudid to get rid of the pain. That stuff will make you very happy but dizzy until it wears off. Physical therapy will be quite an adventure too. Just take a pain pill before and after as needed. I know more than I'd like to about that stuff but don't want to die from obesity due to the TV and potato chips all time... heal up then RIDE!!

Ooo yes to the lazy boy. it is my friend, but thats gets old too the ADD in me, ;) So I re made the sofa into a place to chill with a lot of pillows, it ain't to bad. Now if only my arm would just give me a break, Ha, I know it's a long haul the mental part is the real game tht in it's self is something else. have to chuckle my arm pit and bicep is still green and blue, shoulder is just yellow green now. Oh Yes that Dilaudid stuff is wicked, i have to take an anti nauseous med along with it.used that with the kindey stones, wild stuff not for the weak. Yea actual PT can't come soon enough, I'm getting restless. be something different. Thanks guys for letting me vent and get some finger exercise, that takes the mind off it for a while :)

About a year or so ago I went into the local ER then ended up in a ward. I don't know what all was in the IV but I do know there was some pain relievers as I take them for chronic pain at home. But I became bunged up. They wanted me to shit before they released me from the ward. Wasn't happening though. They started talking about enemas for me. I don't think there was anything to shit out as I was basically on clear fluids for days. But they were still taking about doing something totally unnatural to me. Told my doc, "Just tell them to let my wife bring me some preserved prunes."

Nurses started giving me prune pudding and prune juice. Fucking awful stuff. And it did not work. So I just told my wife to bring some preserved prunes in the next day. She buys them all the time. I ate about 10 of them one night and the next morning, I was able to adequately decorate the toilet bowl with ample and varied styles of skid marks.
