Rodent ate chestnuts and pipercross in the air filter-a shocking story!

I adj the idle a bit-its now perfect 1200 and hit the throttles with cnc-it seem to help. CNC might be the best thing you can buy for $3 at auto zone. There was some junk in the air box still. I will hit the throttles with some more cnc on next ride. My conclusion is Pipercross air filter is a piece of junk, the Honda filter is much better and a chipmunk could not bite though the standard steel mesh. Honda seems to have gotten more things right then most bikes. I don't even care if I get a free replacement or not which seems unlikely at this point, I want to kick that british queen even though top gear is one of my favorate shows:boink:

 

Let me get this straight. You judge how good an air filter is by its rodent stopping ability?

So by your logic you should hate your VFR by how many times you threw it on the ground. It is much worse than the moped you use to ride.

it's unfortunate the rodents didn't gnaw through his wiring harness at different points instead. for him, his bike would be toast and he'd probably move on to some other vehicle related website when the next purchase is made. like a swarm of grasshoppers moving on after devastating a field of crops.

I am going to ring the bike with Moth balls, that chipmunk is history anyway-the cat got it. I am glad Randy has tested it 100,000 miles -freeway miles though-. that little bugger did a number on my poor vfr -here I think my idle stuff is screwed up, when its just full of nuts. I use some gunout-wrong stuff. I get cnc-right stuff, clean the stuff out.
The pipercross has no steel screen like the stock one does. I do have it mostly fixed. May still be a little stuff inside, the idle is now spot on 1200.

For the sake of your mental health, may I suggest that you take a step back and not identify yourself quite so closely with the fast guys. Like many here, you are a fan and that's it. One might think that the way the stands are filled at major race events it might sink in that you are just one of many. We see the same behavior in rock and movie groupies, gamers, gamblers, druggies, alcoholics , sex addicts, those with eating disorders...the list goes on..
