Greg, I can appreciate all the "cleaning" work, I built a project FJR that I got basically in pieces and baskets. I think I spent more time cleaning than I did putting it together, but it was showroom clean when it left here.
As far as your photos, there once was a workaround to view photos held hostage, but yours now seem to be gone... if you still have the originals, I'd recommend SmugMug (started by motorcyclists for motorcyclists), and while there is an annual fee of around $40, it is well worth it for the peace of mind. But, helluva job replacing all those links here......
I'm in the midst of restoring my '99, but I'm gonna spend less time on cleaning, LOL. Cheers!!

Greg, all of the photos still work for me. There is a browser extension that allows photobucket images to show up. The one I am using in Chrome is Photobucket Hotlink Fix, I went through the thread and all of the images are still showing up for me.

Greg - Download all your PB photos to your hardrive if you can.... Then I recomend Smugmug as a host for the photos, you can easily reload on that site and repost...
    -Its been working for me...

Wow! I just installed the fix you described and it works like a charm... at least for now.

Unfortunately I don't know how long my Photobucket account will remain viable because they have been relentlessly hassling me for additional money due to "bandwidth usage". This full-court press started up just after I made my yearly payment for my Photobucket account. I guess they figured that since they'd just gotten my yearly payment it was a good time to hit me up for more money.

Yes, I'm going to do the download-and-save to hard drive soon (gotta find the time to devote to the effort).

Hey mate thanks for the insightful pictures. I have owned one for 3 months . I didn’t know where to start with my refurb, thanks to you I have a better idea. I had a slow speed drop on my slopey gravel driveway today and done right side fairing, front fairing , blinker and that’s not taking it apart yet. Does anyone know where or if you can get genuine red fairings ? I’m more than peed of with myself. I took 15 years to buy this bike and wanted it to stay original . Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Fairing repair is not too difficult for a DIY project. Many youtube videos on the subject.
Fifth gen side fairings from Honda are not available, the front fairing is the only hold out. For around $600 usd or so you can get a new one here https://www.partzilla.com/product/honda/64210-MBG-000ZA.

Thanks . I have been you tubing and will give it a crack . No no no no more cracks . I picked up another bike the same but immaculate amd haven’t picked it up yet due to border closures. One good tip I got from you tube was take off all the fairings, store them and put on Chinese ones. That makes perfect sense now you can’t get oem ones . I’ll now pull my 38,000klm one apart and do a refurb at my leisure , considering I have a 30,ooo klm one to ride . It has a Kurker pipe , I remember that brand . Still I’m looking for a staintune as people say it’s a sweet note with one on . Alrighty, catch you later. Oh I assume you can get oem blinker Lens. So you reckon partszilla is the best chance for any oem ? Cheers

I believe that the lens' are still avialable from any Honda parts dealer. Do check with partszilla, they may have a better price.

Hi RllwJoe and all , partszilla says this is available
Thanks . I found a top fairing kit below it’s the one with oooZA . THE 940Za is deleted. Does anyone know the difference ? I’m tending to take a punt but would like anyone’s feedback please. Warren

Maybe Simple Green , made in America. I retail that here in Australia and they make some awesome
Cleaning products. Apart from that , I’d use a high alkaline sodium hydroxide ( not caustic potassium hydroxide) perhaps 70g per litre . After this I would renew some selective parts with an alloy brightner which is generally low pH and could have phosphoric acid base with a drop of ( escapes me this second ) a high toxicity ingredient . ( they use it to get gold out of quartz, it dissolves the quartz but not the gold . Then of course good old elbow grease with a selective range of brush ware . I’m fortunate to own a cleaning retail store and have any brush made just up the road from us. I won’t keep going but just like to mention plexus . Made in America and good stuff for your abs plastics and “boys toys” I have started shopping for the OEM parts you have been mentioning and slowly building up a stash for when the time comes. I’ll be back reading this fantastic post when I do mine. Oh, how is the bike going in 2020? Still serving you well I imagine ? Thank You

I also use the citrus-based Simple Green, and naptha (lighter fluid, Seafoam, WD40 contain it) for the oily greasy stuff. Repeat as necessary. Another product that works for paint or clearcoat that has a minor scuff/scratch is Novus #2. It has a very very fine abrasive that will rub these out with a little elbow grease, it is intended to take small scratches out of plastics. Then if you like, follow up with your favourite wax product (Honda Polish is good). On windshields, etc. finish with Novus #1. Plexus is OK too but "thicker".

I'm not sure what the diff would be. However the first is the part # for the red "98 as is shown in the parts diagram.
