I keep seeing people post "until this helmet has been tested". According their (VOZZ) website, the helmets have received DOT, ECE and AS/NZ, so what "other" testing are they missing? Are you expecting them to perform helmet testing on live subjects?

ACU or AMA acceptance

Current tests are for a totally different design of helmet where penetration, etc, are what's tested for, I doubt there's yet a totally applicable set of tests, they certainly don't test Arai helmets to see if they will come apart in the middle if you're unlucky enough to land on your head, like Guy Martin did at this years UlsterGP

As it stands then you're happy the next round of testing will be on live subjects, the people who buy them

The next stage in helmet development should be neck support IMHO

Personally I'd like to see one on a crash test dummy get hit with a baseball bat several times on the side

Other than SNELL certification, which they most likely will not get, as modular helmets and even full face helmets with drop down sun visors cannot get SNELL certification, I'm not sure what the ACU or AMA could add.

As far as live test subjects, only those who wear the "salad bowl" helmets need apply!

If you are expecting to take a tumble on L.A.’s 405 freeway, a SNELL-certified lid might be more appropriate
Thats crazy!!!! They would mention the 405

Hi Northwood,

their web site says AU$ 888. Or around US$ 650 or thereabouts. Doesn't say if there is a price difference for the different certifications, but the ECE ones are around 100g lighter than the DOT approved ones.

They will have an online store up and running in a week or so, if the countdown timer is to be believed. They are open for business by phone though before the web store launches. They do not currently have a US distributor, but say "coming soon", so no idea whether they have stock of the different models for different markets.

It does look like a decent idea, they say that they are made for them by a "leading manufacturer of composite helmets", so hopefully the quality would be up to scratch.
