They normalize when mounted, and allow you to perhaps run a size up if needed. Probably the only 140 I would run on the 3.5" rear VFR wheel.

Those will work just fine. Probably the only 100/90 that might look decent too. Most versions of that size look quite wrong to me with way too much sidewall making the proportions look pretty un-sporty.

Still, I bet if you sit those vertical next to each other, they almost have same diameter, yet are 2" apart in rim size.

Interesting - I will take another photo this week showing them upright side by side. I think these were less $ than the Bridgestones, too.

Thanks - I think the blue is a little "bright" but who knows how it'll look once on the bike.

Now if I can pull off the actual recovering job!

I love the blue but it isn't very VFRish.

The blue is bright. I'm having a similarly hard time coming up with a blue for the VF1000F that doesn't look outa place. I have a blue that is too bright like that, and one that is too dark/smoky. I can't find a good in between.

I've decided on black. F it.

It's easier to staple thru and is less likely to tear.

I use more staples than stock to distribute the load on aftermarket vinyl/covers. There is a lot of pulling and adjusting. Sometimes stapling just to secure it so you can pull/adjust elsewhere, than you have to come back and pull staples to re-do that area.

Not sure if you actually want piping. The front sections where it engages the fuel tank is hard enough already dealing with a lot of material, getting it folded over and secured, and have it snug up nicely to the tank and not have wrinkles on the visible seat.

    NOT FUN.

Honda used/uses some kind of heating/molding technique on their one piece covers that is VERY hard to replicate. If you have ever removed a solo seat cowl pad cover, you'll see what I'm talking about.

So just use the material by itself.....and more staples.....got it. Thanks, Capt!

I have had aftermarket seat covers come with a strip of alternative material, but 9 times out of 10 I am pulling and securing WELL PAST that area to get a clean, wrinkle free install. Or I would be stapling into the seat pan in very inappropriate areas, way too far inboard.

Hawk GT and 86 VFRs are some of the hardest seats I have covered.

Interesting. I have such a cover recently purchased from an eBay seller in Thailand but haven't tried to use it yet. I mostly purchased it to see what something like this looked like - as opposed to what I am now buying - just the material itself.

    Love that photo, Capt.

These Interceptors are so iconic.......they're a real force multiplier when photographed in such a scenic location.

Is this your fav. bike to take out for a quick run like today?
