This is my June 2 post above.

I was looking on eBay at parts and I'm always interested in VFR/VF fuel tanks in particular. I ran across one where the seller stated he didn't have the key for it, but it had the cap in place.

So I sent him a note letting him know where to find the code so he could get a key made - or at least put the information on his auction site so prospective buyers would know if they bought the tank they could et a key made for it fairly easily.

He was nice enough to send a reply:

"Thank you very much! I’ll order some keys and re list the tank!"

I've been helped so much by so many others, I try to pass along things where possible....paying it forward......it's the only way to go.......

So after some input from various people I decided to go with just Biaggi’s signature and to finally protect it. Came out nice and clean I think. And I just passed 40k on the chassis.

 

Craigslist sometimes works. CBR900RR rear caliper and bracket. $20 Edmonds, WA... my town. Texted him... 3 block from my house.

They looked great, like brand new. Noticed the bracket had been powder coated likely. Well... yep.




Nice piece when doing another wheel swap.

 

Currently on eBay ( 2 separate auctions) there is a vf1000f tail piece with tail cowl ( single seat cutter cover ) that has part of the hardware you need to make the cowl lock. The other auction is the cowl itself that has the locking mechanism… hard to find pieces .
One is a little pricey but if you need one ..

That said......I just scored this complete exhaust system from eBay....only $160 delivered! Came off an '87 VFR700F.

I have been so done with PC for a while. But the caliper and bracket were less than 5 minuted from my house, and whoever did the PC knew what can, and can't be, coated. I'll pop the piston out, verify assembly and cleanliness, apply a little red rubber grease and package it away for a project.

 

That is a sweet pickup for sure. Good find.

 

Anyone going to Seattle to pick this bike up?

 

I fuckin should be... but it's giving me red flag vibes.
