Very refreshing not to be plagued by all those nasty Tim Hortons. That alone would make it worthwhile to move down here, right A.M.?

That's a really amazing view of awesome trees, but I'm not too convinced. ;) How about a Timmies every 200 miles along the PCH? That would be amazing!!!!

I should have taken you to Tommy's GT! Another LA Landmark and staple of late night party people!

I will head you way soon with the New Interceptor (Probably next year if I can hook up with some riding buddies on this site. I think that Southern Utah and the Canadian Rockies are the Best 2 of 10 rides on this continent) But, riding in Utah my whole life and trips out of state into Colorado and the western states I think that you should look and this on your agenda http://www.motorcycleroads.com/Routes/Utah_120.html if you want to have a great scenic ride in Utah. Forget the salt flats and click on this link. Plus even better google "Utah's most scenic highways if you want to spend a day or 2 o 3 days in the Utah, Colorado area. Both are great, but I always say to anyone from wherever to take the time to ride in Utah! Warning though! Utah has a tendency to use road snakes a lot to repair roads so be advised as we all know those burecratic bastards that don't want to fix roads right are assholes to us!;-)

Well, that would be something alright! My problem is that some Cdn.s think Timmys is like a Canadian Institution! ? I guess that I'm not one of those people. Its even owned by Wendy's! !!".

Used to be Canadian until it was bought out.

Some are attached to Wendy's in the same building here in Manitoba.

Wow! Ive got to get back to the North, was almost frozen solid today! It hit 29 C today and I thought it was just about right! Nice breeze! Then, about 30 miles before Monterey it went down to 13C! ! No sun either, due to thick fog. Went back up, somewhat before San Francisco. If traffic was lighter that stretch of road wohld be awesome. Still, i think the north end was more scenic,if that is possible.

Hey GT. Keep it going! My dad has the same GL1800 and I toured it in Northern Ontario once. I'm trying to remember, when it gets cold don't you just roll up the windows? Great trip GT. So envious....

Sounds familiar - Jason and I encountered a bit of fog on the coastal run back from R3 to San Francisco and the heated grips were very welcome. Yet when we headed in to town later to ride the cable cars it was a clear sunny day. The return route back to LA was far worse with fog hugging the PCH - despite barely 10 metres visibility - a lot of cars passed me at speed with no lights on and I can only assume they had some sort of x-ray vision system installed - after 20 minutes of rarely seeing any of "the coast" on the Pacific Coast Highway I decided to cut across to the inland interstate where the run was pretty boring but at least there was no fog and it was a whole lot warmer.

    Keep the pictures coming.

    Cresent City!

Made it up to Cresent City today. Got some lane splitting practice today and after passing two riders in traffic, they decided to join me ! So, three of us split for 15 minutes straight! Even caught up with one Cruiser dude, who was cramping my style by going too slow! Jason, I'm a changed man,no more sitting in long lines of cars for me! You've created a m(onster. May have to cut through Portland and Seattle, just so I'll have some traffic to split!
On another note, the scenery has officially changed from desert brown to Forest Green. Coast line is also rockier. I see the fourth of July gouging has began in the hotel industry. One place had a price on their sign, but upon asking how much he gave me a higher price and said "Well, it's 4th of July. Weekend!"

Hey GT, splitting is only legal in California...I'm sure there are a few riders who try and get away with it in other states but technically it's a moving violation outside of California. Of course being from Canada, you can always play the "I thought it was legal in all of the states?!" YMMV

Ride safe and have a good journey home!
