GT, by that picture of you with "The Bridge" in the background, that you made a stop at Cycle Gear.
I suggest that if your spending the night at Derstuka's, that you sleep on your side with your back side pressed up against the wall. Can't be too careful in that part of town, just sayin. Tee hee.

He might be a bit misguided boss, because he has a passion to see LA. I tried to talk him out of it, but to no avail. You got room for a supersize VFR (aka Gold Wing) in your garage?

Went up to Alice's today. Another great ride. Great ocean views going up and back. Got some phone pics, but having "issues" uploading the pictures. Have a great host here in San Francisco, though.

Compton is not a nice area. No where near Disneyland. Google South Central LA. Disneyland is about an hour south in Anaheim. Stay out of Compton.

You need to come to my part of the world. I am literally surrounded by canyons. Google Moorpark and look at all the canyon roads that literally ring my area. Mulholland, Highway 150, Highway 33 and those are just a fraction. Stunt Road, Balcom Canyon, Decker Canyon, Latigo Canyon, it's a bike paradise here.

Hi GT. Have fun out there. Hopefully you're pulling our leg on Compton? Since I work for a USA company for 23 years I have had the experience to be scared Shiitless for my life in many US cities, Chicago, Boston,Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Springfield etc, but the most afraid for my life ever was running out of fuel and getting off the highway in Compton. Jesus... Stay away, you will have that Gold Wing rolled in 10 seconds... No offense to any Comptoners on here.

Oh gee, Glenn, I'm not sure I'd survive Compton. I'd need a lot of stabby kitties. And mace. And a pistol. And maybe cross dress as a dude. Lolzzzz

Tell me you aren't staying in Compton...???!!!

But I'd LOVE to see your routes...would be awesome for planning next year!!!!

    Hey Glenn,

Yeah, I figured you were gonna roast a tad. Sorry buddy, but the heat is on right now. I felt it heating up when we parted ways. Then it was a nice cool 66 when I got back home. Ahhhhh

Anyway, I strongly recommend getting a very early start tomorrow and hitting the 166 (exit 175 I believe) in Nipomo just north of Santa Maria, and taking it east to 33 south. 166 is fast sweepers, and 33 is a very sweet road going into Ojai. Very picturesque. Ojai will be nuts, so you have a couple of options, but if you hit it early enough I would just continue thru Ojai on the 33 until it meets up with the 101 in Ventura again.

Let me know if you need to crash here on your way back too.

    Cheers,
    Jason

Oh, and remember the queen Mary is in Long Beach. Best to try to get into LA as early as you can. Hug the coast when you can during the day as it will roast your arse inland.
