I don't think we really need it. Whoever has it, is doing a pretty damn good job with it. I say we leave it in those capable hands.

I realized my initial post may have implied I was taking sides. I am not choosing. I merely report the facts.

I gotta bump this bitch......the first 2009 MotoGP practice session at Qatar kicks off tomorrow with FP1 at noon-1:30 pm pst.

Don't forget to sign your asses up for the Team Manager fantasy league at MotoGP.com.

The percentage of races won by either Casey Stoner or Valentino Rossi since the introduction of the 800cc limit for MotoGP machines at the start of the 2007 season. Between them they have won 29 of the 36 races that have taken place. The only other rider with more than a single MotoGP victory in this period is Dani Pedrosa with four wins. Chris Vermeulen, Jorge Lorenzo and Loris Capirossi have each had a single win.

I am so glad to see other MotoGP addicts on the forum! Having recently joined, I was hoping this was the case. Anyway. Pedrosa has about as much personality as a parking meter. I can not STAND him. He brings nothing to the sport in my opinion. He has shown some real talent, but he crashes too much and his attitude sucks. I am a Rossi/Nicky/Edwards fan. Rossi is on a whole other zen plane of moto-existence. He really is something on a bike. Even his fellow GP riders have said he's special. Nicky and Colin are two amazingly talented good ol' 'merican boys who deserve our support in the States. I am looking forward to the new season. I think Stoner will be strong but I don't think he'll take the championship. I think Rossi will amaze us all yet again. I think he's so high off of last year that he just can't wait to have the satisfaction of making everyone else cry and want to join another sport. Hehe. Colin and Nicky may step up and take some podiums or better too. All in all I think it's gonna be one HELL of a season. I'm also excited to see what Dovizioso does. Heck I can't wait until next year! Dude, when Simonccelli comes up from 250's, WHOA! He's like Rossi v. 2.0! Hehe.

Looks like some fans should only watch Moto-GP on TeeVee or they might be throwing shit at the riders they don't like like some football "fans."

What we oughta have is maybe a short lesson on facemakeup like the football dudes or some cheers.

    Rah-rah sis boom bah,

    Pedrosa sucks!

I know it doesn't rhyme really very well. An indication perhaps why we need a head cheerleader.

    Pedrosa v. Hayden

There is a website called, MotoGPMatters.com | Kropotkin Thinks | ... that the wait is nearly over.
that has an article about their crash in Portugal in '06 (?) and gives the background. It is a good site for anyone who hasn't followed GP. Search it.
The wall was put up because of "tire companies". Its been done before, but it was one more insult, in a long line.
Pedrosa is a dick, but I don't know what being a Spaniard or eating tacos has to do with it, you ignorant redneck.

I'm 5'8 and 130, I'm no racer/motogp class rider but featherweight isn't a disadvantage. If you'll notice most of pedrosa's 1ups on other people come in the turns. Small size means he can't muscle the bike into turns, but it also requires less effort when the total system of bike and rider is lighter; it also allows for tighter turning radii without dragging hard parts.

I strongly believe that Pedrosa will never will a MotoGP title....on ANY MotoGP bike. He is a very talented rider but he is just too small to be able to control the MotoGP bike properly and enough to get the most out of these bikes.

Here are the riders, sorted in increasing size,

    Pedrosa - 5' 2" / 112 lbs - 0 MotoGP titles
    Stoner - 5' 7" / 128 lbs - 1 MotoGP title
    Hayden - 5' 8" / 152 lbs - 1 MotoGP title
    Rossi - 5' 11" / 148 lbs - 5 MotoGP titles

So the biggest guy is the most successful. Coincidence? I don't think it is. There is no question, these guys have more riding talent in their left pinky finger than I do in my whole body and I couldn't hold a candle to these guys on any track. But at some point, as these bikes get physically bigger and more powerful, you need a larger and stronger person to be able to control and harness these MotoGP bikes. There is no question that Rossi is in a league of his own but I strongly believe that his size gives him a big advantage on these MotoGP bikes. These guys aren't riding around on country roads on 600's doing 150 km/h. These guys are pushing the physical limits of themselves and the bikes at nearly 300 km/h.

If you look at the picture that NCB posted up of the 2009 MotoGP bikes, it clearly shows the Repsol Honda is the smallest bike on the grid. The bike's engines may be the same size but the overall physical size of the bikes are different. Hayden has said on many occasions that the latest Repsol Honda was too small for him and underpowered. Honda clearly designed the new bike for the smaller Pedrosa.

And because the Repsol Honda bike is so small, I believe this bike will never win. You can only go so small with regards to the frame and overall size of a bike and expect it to harness and control the power produced from these MotoGP bikes and successfully transfer this power to the asphalt. Until Honda gets their head out of their asses and stop focusing their R&D budget on bikes like the Fury and the DN-01, they will NEVER produce another MotoGP winner. I'm quite sure Mr. Soichiro is turning over in his grave. Honda has clearly lost it's focus and have forgotten what brought Honda to where it is now. :frown:

But what the hell do I know. I'm just some Canadian schmuck still freezing his ass off and waiting for the damn snow to melt so I can finally get out and ride!

And I can't wait for the 2009 MotoGP season to start this weekend!

Really? Hayden has a MotoGP championship and Edwards has 2 World Superbike championships. BOTH on bikes larger than 250cc. How many world championships does Pedrosa have on a bike over 250cc?

    And Edwards is 5' 10" @ 145 lbs.
