    I am a proud member of the PGR in Colorado and have done several rides. There are so many rides all the time from funerals to welcome homes. One that I will always remember was being able to escort WWII vets to the airport so they could fly to DC and see their memorial. 3 buses full of men and women that served in WWII. Pouring rain and cold escorting the buses down I-25 to Denver, seeing all the fireman, police, active duty and reservists standing randomly along I-25 snapping to attention and saluting the buses as we passed by. It brought tears to my eyes. Its about Honor and Respect.

    The WBC was supposed to be in Woodstock GA yesterday to protest the funeral of a local solider that was killed, they didn't show up, and it's such a good friggin thing. I don't think they really thought about going to Woodstock and getting away with that shit, not in my town bitches. I know their shtick is all about getting people revved up to gain publicity so I agree, everyone should turn the media away from them and focus on honoring a hero not their BS campaign. Doesn't keep me from still wanting to help them take a premature trip to see their maker though.

    I think there has been some confusion of posts, so to clarify;

    The WBC (Westboro Baptist Church) are the folks hiding behind religion; AKA, the protestors.

    The PGR (Patriot Guard Riders) are the motorcyclists standing up for the dignity of the fallen; AKA, the heroes.

    Seemed to be some confusion earlier. The PGR is not religious affiliated at all; the protestors are (though denounced by most).

    Hope that helps.

    Whew! Thanks Gunny. That sort of black and white insight is just what is needed around here before we start in with the lynching and really cool torture.

    What we should do is kidnap one of those protestors make them swallow a hungry rat then sew thier mouths and assholes shut. Waaay cool!

    Wow, must be a sign: I was just looking at PGR yesterday, after a great conversation with a local Harley rider. He was all patched up with USMC, POW/MIA, PGR and such. Very cool, genuine guy, not at all hung up on bike brands. I checked out the PGR website and it's a very cool thing. My only hesitation was that I thought I might feel like a poseur, never having been in the service myself. But I certainly appreciate the service and sacrifice of others...my grandfather, dad, brother, and nephew have spanned WWI, WWII, Vietnam, and Iraq. Come to think of it, there's no reason to feel like a poseur at all. I'm in!

    Real-life experience with the PGR

    Im a soldier, and while stationed at Ft. Benning, GA, I had the somber honor of burying a brother-in-arms. He too was a fellow biker, and fellow member of mine in the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association chapter 28-1. He died riding his motorcycle. At the funeral, we had the tradition military/biker burial. Almost 300 bikes turned out to ride behind the hearse that carried him from the funeral home to his final resting place. About 20 minutes prior to the procession, another 50 or so bikes pulled up, it was the calvary, it was the Patriot Guard. They gracefully dismounted their bikes, assembled their flags, and began to get in single file order. They then marched around the entire building, forming a human wall of red, white, blue, and black leather. Needless to say, the funeral was not disrupted by the 10 or so protesters across the street, as they did not have the courage to even come to the funeral homes side of the street lol. The biggest message sent was by the PGR. I doubt any of the passers by even noticed the protesters what with the 50 bikers standing shoulder-to-shoulder waving American flags. God bless the PGR and all the work they do to maintain the peace and honor the fallen!
