Sorry. I missed the reply to the thread.

Anyways , my eshaust manifold was dented in at one of the front pipes (fork bent in and wheel hit pipe). I already scraped the header.

Not sure which part you are asking about. The Exhaust manifold is one piece from the front headers to the muffler joint. The only separate pieces are the two pipes from each rear exhaust ports to rest of the header/manifold. I have those rear exhaust pipes. The rest was scrapped.

Do you still have the engine? I am looking for the bolt on piece that the shifter shaft goes thru. Thanks.

Do you have the inner plastic in the dash area that screws in the area to remove the windscreen? Its 2 pieces. Also, fuel injectors?

Since this is an old thread, thought I'd chime in here since I'm parting out my 1999 VFR too.

As for the inner plastic are those parts # 9 and # 10 in this diagram: http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Honda/Motorcycle/1999/VFR800FI+A/UPPER+COWL/parts.html

If so, I got those and will let those go for 15 bucks + shipping.

And as for the fuel injectors, you can get them cheap from: http://www.fuelinjectorwhse.com/injectors.php?id=MP4089 Mine were getting gunked up and I replaced it with those and works great!

I don't remember the turnaround but basically the way it works is that you buy the injectors from them and then you mail them your old injectors. If the old injectors are refurbishable they'll refund you 5 bucks.

    Hey Art,
Both are available. Looks like you are set for the plastic pieces.
regarding the injectors: probably better for you to buy them from that website linked above. I want to sell the Throttle-body assembly as a whole unit. I don't want to sell the injectors separately. $50 + shipping for the whole assembly if you want to buy it all.

Thanks for the link to the injector place. I know in LA there is a place that does an ultrasonic clean, replaces screens etc and sends them out with a 24 hour turn around. However, I am thinking that perhaps remans may or may not be better. Dunno, but it's always great having more options!

ETA: How much difference was there in smoothness of the engine and did it improve your part throttle running? My very high mileage 5th gen is surging somewhat at around 8K with only part throttle, I don't notice anything if I'm at regular cruising rpms. Up around 10K it's very smooth and of course WFO it's smooth, or I just have to concentrate on the road too much to notice!

Literally night and day difference. Before I could only start the bike with the choke wide open AND revving the right wrist wide open. And once it was running it struggled to even get going. After installing the new injectors it starts right up without choke and barely any flick of the wrist. So yeah it does make a big difference!

These bikes have hit the point it's more profitable to part them than sell them, depending on condition and mileage. It's not like we're seeing a trove of S1000RR parts for too cheap.

Plus it's easier to part everything out compared to waiting around for someone who wants to buy a parts-only bike.
