VRF all ready has a Music box called the 2bos carbon can, I couldn't possibly think of a better music box-I notice its like a pied piper going down the road-people actually look up when they hear that Music coming down the road. The carbon can drums real fast.:ranger::bluesbros::violin:

Nothing to be ashamed of, you just want things to be done well !

Here's something to consider trying. I think you can add bondo to blend the pods in and match them up nicely, by using the fairings as tooling surfaces.

    1. cover the surrounding fairings with thin packing tape
    2. mark a line or curve on the tape where you expect the pod edges to end. you can use a paper template to mirror this curve to the other side of the bike.
    3. applying paste wax or mold release onto these taped surfaces
    4. reassemble the pod onto the bike and apply bondo/filler, sculpting as needed, using the now-well-protected fairings as tooling surfaces. Might want to work on one side at a time.
    5. remove the pod assembly and do any final shaping and sanding on the bench, leave the tape on the fairing til you're done so that you can check fit and finish as you go. I suggest a small radius on the edge of the pod where it meets the fairings.

If you want to create a deliberate gap or clearance to prevent fretting of the fairing paint from vibration, then build up some additional thickness of tape before applying the paste wax.

If you aren't satisfied with the results you can grind off the bondo and redo it, just reapply the paste wax to ensure a clean release!

I have both a stainless 2bros (which is nice on sundays) and a carbon D&D that I chopped. I got it off a downed bike, so 1/3 of it was crushed, i cut out the bad chunk and put it back together. and it sounds bad ass. but I like my tunes as well so i need speakers that can keep up to the bead of the vroom :)

Side note, if it were safe on the motor to run open piped, I would do that in a heart beat, the sound of a vfr with no can is like Thor's symphony on wheels.

Having cranked up the mach 1 91 sans muffler a couple of times. I think to do this on a regular basis, one would have to move to Antarctica. What might be fun is to take a couple of laps around the ol hood than call the LEO's and complain aboot harleydoods and their loud pipes.

I had to stop at ten pages of Google on "etching primer". Any specific suggestions? I wonder if it will stick to Teflon?
