Optimal running temperature ?

    Nobody has ever pointed it out, because...

    The 3rd and 4th Gen bypass hose...doesn't exist--any bypass flow is done thru the hole in the thermostat disk. Also the 3rd/4th Gen manual indicates that the thermostat begins to open at 80-84 C and is fully open at 95 C, and the minimum fully-open lift is 8mm. So is the meaning of the "set point" in this context, when it begins to open?
