I test-rode a Buell once; while i was waiting for a stoplight to change, one of the mirrors vibrated off.
RE: confession I LOVE IT! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!! That's exactly the response that I thought I would get. Don't worry. It won't happen and if it did I wouldn't post any pics. The Buell thought came up as well. We up here in Vermont have to have projects to keep us from going mad during the winter. God forbid I ski while surrounded by people from Connecticut. Brainstorming in October is part of the process. KC you have to admit that radials are cool and a Harley mill is just two cylinders off of a radial. Something about the sound they make. If you can't see my point then you need to examine your aviation roots. I have never ridden a Harley or anything made from one so I don't have a frame of reference for how shaky they are but I have this fascination with the iron heads from the seventies and I will make something out of one, one of these days. It might be a go kart, it might be a boat. If I choose to put it in a sport bike I'll do it to something that no one likes, like a GSXR or some other run of the mill piece of crap. BTW: It is legal in Vermont to do such things as long as you are not naked on a public street but I don't indulge in the least. Just staying up late gets me wacked enough to think of such crazy things. Over.---s
I like radial engines alright. I like them in AIRPLANES. In an airplane, they do indeed sound amazing. Whenever there is an airshow, I could care less about the Thunderbirds or Blue Angels, I want to see the B-17's or B-24's. The P-51 sounds freaking amazing as well. A HD motor has almost nothing to do with radial engines. Maybe sometime a long time ago, but now, HD purposely makes them the way they do because they DO vibrate. Sorry, I'm not giving any of my money to a company that purposesly builds bad products to satisfy morons who buy a lifestyle first & function second. As far as HD's, I can honestly say I can't stand the way they sound. When idiots put the crazy, over the top loud pipes on them, they iritate me even more. Listen to the Kawasaki Vulcan 2000. It's a V2 but it sounds just fine. Honda VTX's sound great with a good pipe. The only HD I think sounds OK is the VROD. They actually make a bike that I like the CONCEPT of, the Road Glide. It's a bagger with a minimalist fairing. As much as I like the concept for what it is, I know for 100000000% certain I will disapointed if I would ever ride one. Which is why when I am at the point where I want a bagger, I'm getting either the ST1300 (if Honda ever gets off it's butt & modernizes it) or the BMW R1200RT. KC-10 FE out... lane: :usa2:
