Every place is different in its own little way. I worked as a commercial water well driller in SoCal and I couldnt beleive the regs we had to go through. I can remember one time in particular...we had to have a geologist stand by the entire time to watch for a species of frog to make sure we didn't crush it with our monstrous, deadly, polluting (GASP) DIESEL rig. Eventually every place will eventually follow "wonderful California".
So I say, show them how much they pollute by riding everyday.

I feel for non-smokers. I enjoy a smoke once and a while, but not what you would call a smoker. Don't you think the bar or resturant owner should make the decision to allow smoking. He does own it. What's next?? Will the gov tell the owner what food he can serve? What color to paint it? I just hate to see "We the People" give up our rights left and right. I fought for these freedoms that we are giving up to our own gov every day. :frusty:
Sorry for jumping off subject, I'm just a little touchy when it comes to Big Brother sticking his nose where it doesn't belong.:closed_2:

I agree 100% about big brother sticking his nose in. I guess I don't like smoking, so naturally those laws do not bother me.

You might be aware of this, however, Onstar (GM oncall service provider) is working out a deal with police agencies in which they will be able to disable your vehicle's engine from anywhere the satelite can reach. I can see the the pluses, as such as stopping robbers and criminals, however, I think that the negatives (such as giving some clown in an office the ability to disable your vehicle whenever they see fit) outweigh the positives. I can seen them working with collection agencies, DMV's, courts, and all kind of other people in the future where they will be given permission to disable your vehicle. Hell, maybe in the future, if you have too many points, they can just disable your engine not to restart. I don't think that this is as far-fetched as some might think. I think it is on the horizon.

Another example is that stupid ass mayor Gavin in SF wants to ban or tax all carbonated beverages because of obesity. Same as other cities coming up with crazy plans to ban fast food. The thing that pisses me off about it is people all have a free choice to eat what they want. Why does big brother have to come in and say "hey, lets get rid of all of these fastfood places to help fight obesity"....that is soo stupid. It is just like guns, they don't kill people, people do. Maybe if you are obese you should be declined service at fastfood places instead. Yes, that crazy, but not any crazier than trying to ban fast food. Are we that dumb that we need to the government to save us from ourselves in what we eat and drink as far as calories and fat is concerned...not talking about chemicals that are bad for you.

    Kalifornia...

I believe 100% in state's rights. But that doesn't guarantee that a state won't end up with the inmates running the asylum. You just can't legislate sanity, common sense, or rationality.
