Any of you bastards going to go riding with me this weekend? I'm considering a ride and camp weekend. I know HCD is usually game for that kind of stuff ... so what's the word?

I am going to be camping with the family until Monday pm. Then, I head to the white river for a 5 day fishing trip on Tuesday. On the weekend of June 5th I have a family reunion, and then I head to new jersey for a business trip.....in other words, my bike isn't gonna get ridden much for the next 3 weeks.... :-(

Almost 900 miles over Memorial Day weekend! For some (poor) reason about 2 weeks ago I decided to take my HELI-Bars off and put the stock bars back on. Bad mistake. I'm young, but my hands and back HURT! This must be what OLD feels like - I don't like it at all!

Also, what was with all the rain? And why did it have to stop raining just long enough for me to dry out, and then start raining again? Additionally, why didn't I pack my rain gear? I swear the same small rain cloud followed me the entire weekend. That sonovabitch....

It was definitely a "hindsight is 20/20" sort of weekend for me!

I spent 5 days up there this past week. Got in a a couple of great days of riding before the traffic showed up. 600 miles in two days, then we just did some picture stuff. Had a blast. Here's some pics.

I'd reroute a bit and be on some MUCH better roads than what you've chosen. I'd steer clear of 62. ALWAYs full of traffic. Same goes for Ar7. Although scenic, it's usually traffic bound as well. Not a lot of fun just tooling behind a bunch of cages that have no idea where they are going.

With so many other back roads in that area, virtually traffic free, you'd be nuts to take the main roads you have marked. .02

Thank you Sir. I really enjoy it. I wanted a 93 when they came out and finally got one.

Funny you mention the kickstand fairing...that thing gets more attention than anything else on the bike.

    Guys

I would love to go riding on the 6th, but it is our 23rd anniversary. My schedule is completely filled on Saturdays until the middle of this month due to baseball and softball. It would be great to get an all VFR ride in this summer.

NW AR Riders Be on the look out

Lear this is probably aimed at you more than anyone since I see you all the time on your silver VFR. Don't hate me but I traded in the VFR Friday on a Kawasaki Concours14. I know, I know, I've betrayed you all, but my neck is thanking me. So if you all see a Silver '08 Concours around with a bright Yellow helmet that would be me. I haven't forgotten where I come from and have nothing but Love the VFR. Lear I drove out to the airport Friday afternoon on it, but you must have already left. It was around 5:00.
See you all on the Roads of NW Arkansas.

well I have military drill pretty much the first weekend of every month so i'll be working the 6th:mad:

as for rerouting. I could make it A LOT shorter... I havent been on 62 recently but i was on 7 from jasper to the cliff house inn the weekend before last and it was fine, the cars were actually nice enough to let me pass. i guess its just a luck of the draw. we usually head out to jasper from fay on 16 then 74 to wesley then to huntsville then to kingston and ponca and low gap on into Jasper...

when you get to ES on 23, go east on 62 for about a mile and look for Rockhouse Rd on your right (it's right next to the antique mall). Follow that until you get to 221 and hang a left. This road basically parallels 62 and goes into Berryville. Go south on 21 from Berryville to 421, go left and hook a right on 103 south. When you get to the end of that go right. Follow to 74, then across low gap and Mt Sherman into Jasper. South on 7 and turn left on 374. Follow to 123 through Mr Judea. You'll end up back on 7 again. South to 16 and you'll have a choice of going east (I vote for east), or heading back west. The west section back to 23 is kinda lame IMO. Going east on 16, pick up 27 and head up to Marshall. From there you can choose to go north on 65 up to Harrison and work your way back on 62 if you wish.

man...there's just too many great roads up there...lol
