IMO, there is a tendency to "death grip" the bars as speed increases.Lots of physiologial stuff going on with that including sphincter pucker at the distal end. Best bet? Loosen up but not too much.

A year ago I did a thousand kilometer day on my 6th gen and ended up with numb, tingling right arm and (unusually for me, some back pain). The tingling took about three weeks to go away completely.

So I bought a used Sargent seat.

This year, similar distance ride (and more total kms over the same four day stretch) and no problems. No sore back either!

This is an issue for me also, left wrist, the numbness/pain frequently radiates all the way to the shoulder. Wearing a wrist brace designed for carpal tunnel has practically eliminated the problem.

I've been getting deep tissue massage to fix my carpal tunnel problem. It hurts like hell at first, but it has helped immensely. Work insurance covers it, so it is a win-win situation

I had a numbness issue about ten years ago which was really really bad. At night it felt like my hands had a tourniquet tied around them and they were gona explode. I saw a hand surgeon and had the nerve conduction test. It was determined that I had carpal tunnel. She told me it was not bad and advised me to wear hand splints at night. She also told me just because I got the surgery wouldnt mean that it would go away.

I worked smarter, (air-tools) and wore my splints and it went away by itself.

Flash forward to now. I sometimes get numbness at night, never on the bike, my rides are anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour.

I had a problem with tight gloves, old deer skins I would not get rid of. Hands kept getting numb. One day I take out a Harley and I am riding it bare handed. Guess what??? No numbness. I binned them shrunk up old gloves and got new ones, and problem solved. Maybe your holding onto the bars too tight? good luck
