Got to the end of my street. Motor cut out

new battery. Lots of juice. Turn ignition on. No neutral light and the gear indicator is just showing a horizontal line.
Starter won’t cut in. Can’t bump start it.
I am thinking the neutral safety switch has malfunctioned and killed the ignition circuit.
    Anyone have any similar occurrences?
When I get home I will check the fuses. If anyone knows where the switch is I would appreciate any advice. If not I will dig around to find the switch and ground it out to see if it comes back to life.

nevertheless, you should be able to start it in any gear as long as the clutch lever is pulled in, right ?

switch is located at rear of clutch housing cover, low and just inboard of the right footpeg. could be a loose connection.

I'll bet when you got to the end of your street And applied the brake would have been when that fuse blew.
Have a close look at your brake light operation. Is there any chance the front brake switch connections could be touching the handle bar riser, creating a short?
Take note if the fuse blows again, was it when brakes applied.

Funnily enough I had exactly this problem with my indicators on my 5th gen recently. I had to put the stock bars back on and had the reservoir rotated down too far. Took the fuse out quickly, and repeatedly until I moved the reservoir out. Fortunately this only affected the indicators, stop/tail and horn.
