Sweet! I was going to fumble my way thru the breaks and watch a few utoob vids but would be much better off getting some first hand advice. I like to have working breaks so I Kinda don't want to mess those up. You're only about 40 mins away so no problemo there and I'm good on tires. Got About 80 % left on Dunlop Q3's. My biggest prob is I don't have any weekdays. I work a solid 8-7 5 fun filled days a week. I do have week nights and could be a your call on weekends. ....

Sorry for the delay but just getting my weekend plans firmed up. Looks like Saturday is family day and Sunday is up for grabs. If you're still interested in having your brakes done, let me know and I'll put it on the calendar. I also spoke with Scubalong and he's up for stopping by too.

Thanks again for all your help OOTV and Long! You guys made what would have been a really tough job a lot easier plus you aren't too bad to hang with. I picked up a wealth of tips and learned a lot more in just a few hours then I would have working alone learning from my mistakes and now I can see there would have been a bunch of them not knowing the abs break/linked system.

All that and some great banquette sandwiches (thank you Long) and some killer IPA's.

Thanks again guys. Now we need to put a good ride together.

Happy to lend a hand Greg! Glad it was educational and useful to you. Also glad Long didn't drink all the IPA!

As I mentioned, usually at least one day out of the weekend I'll ride one of the VFRs but sometimes the Duc needs to spread her wings too. Either way, most rides happen here in So Cal and on occasion we head out beyond the LA/OC borders and hit some areas outside the norm, Palomar, Borego Springs, Ojai, Central Coast, etc.

Also, if you're ever free during the week, Duccmann, Big Panda, and sometimes me can ride during the week, so don't be shy and just ask if you want to go for a ride.

    Cheers,
    D

WTH. What's with this people talking behind my back....bastards.....all of you. Yup. You got me beat mileage wise. But except for the 2 miles the salesman rode and dropped my bike off at my house after they put it together (I had never ridden a bike before) I either put every mile on this, or ride alongside while either Reg, Chomper or Kingsley took it for a ride.

I don't know if I will live long enough to put on 200K miles. I am 61 now and a fat old fugger. But the bike has done at least 2 - 1000 mile/24 hour rides, one registered as an Iron Butt. Next Memorial Weekend, I will make my third attempt at Canada to Mexico Iron Butt Insanity (24 hours) for a third and likely last time. Then onward to the Annual R3 event at Atascadero. Been there four times now and enjoyed every trip. Maybe we can parlay there next year.

Watch out for Scubalong. He is the leader of the pack of a bunch of pervs.

Count me in for the weekend rides but no can do during the week.

BTW the breaks work great now and no more grinding noise. I can even use the back breaks again (I don't but know I can).

LOL Randy! I picked this thing up for a song and it already had most of the miles, so technically you still hold the title. I am going to try to crack 200K on this puppy so maybe I can claim some of the glory.

Good looking VFR you have there. Like the color scheme. I hope I can still ride/pull the long miles when I hit 61! That's quite impressive!

I think scubalong kept himself in line for the first meeting to sucker me into his web of perversions.

Thanks. Paint was showing its age from year round riding so got it repainted and had this one off decal kit made up by a graphics company I dealt with when I was working. Its 3M reflective so looks like something out of the quiet dark warm evenings of Baghdad back in 1991 when light hits it in the dark.
