I just found this site after a ride on my '00. Cool site with good info. My wife thinks I'm crazy for always looking at it but wth. I would say that the VFR is a great compromise as a sport bike that you can live with. I've been riding almost 30 years, since skipping out of gr 11 math and buying a 1980 RD400G for $1869. After jumping off of my pals R6 the VFR feels couch-like and the performance is terrific. No I can't keep up to my buddies Busa, but it is a complete thrill to ride anyhow. I've owned her for 8 years now and would say its the best bike I've ever owned. I've had some good ones, '83 GS750 and some really great ones, '81 RD350LC and a bad, bad mistake, '82 Vision. This VFR is a keeper.
So old timers whats your most cherished bike that you wish was still in the garage? For me its my '86 VF500F that I had for 16yrs and should never have sold.
Anyway thanks for all the ideas. I want some new parts after reading these theads...
