    - You missed the prime opportunity to delink, you coulda flipped your mechanic the Super Hawk lowers, all he has to do is reassemble the forks with them. The remaining stuff is just find calipers and master cylinders, unbolt the stuff you dont want and bolt on the stuff you do want.

    - You still probably would need to buy the SS lines mostly for fit and length issues.

One of the British bike mags a year or two ago took two of the same bikes, I want to say CBR600, but I could be wrong. They took a sum of equal money, and on one spent it on a pipe, power commander and maybe an air filter. On the other the spent the money on suspension mods, upmarket rear shock, pro tuned forks, etc.
They then took both to the track and had several riders do several laps each, on each bike. Everyone was faster on the suspension mod'd bike than the one with a few extra ponies. All felt more confident on the one with the suspension work. They were also surprised at the time differences, since most didn't "feel" like they were that much faster on one versus the other.

If your refering to the Traxxion site - I bought the 8981 double adjustable model. I can say from experience that its fantastic! Nothing like being able to feel exactly what the rear tire is doing.

That said the $1100, 8987 model would be nice but is probably overkill, I havent noticed anything lacking in the one I bought.

Then again the $600 Sport Shock model is probably fine too. - If it's not enuff all these can be upgraded to the triple adjustable.

BTW - RW got a major slam dunk deal on his.

Sounds like it. The mid shock is $800, then figure another $300 for the fork parts, that's $1100 with me doing all the work. I think I'll do the upgrades over next winter.

I've recently ordered a Wilbers shock. No wife & kids for me to worry about, so I can buy what I want when I want it.

Doing the suspension in increments, just installed RT .95 springs with 5 wt. oil - very, very nice improvement for the money. That hideous brake dive is 75% gone, down to an acceptable level - it only dives a lot now under very heavy braking, before even light braking sent the front down deep. Bumps are absorbed much better now - it's like the front is softer on bumps but harder when braking or cornering - great mod for the $.

I looked into an Ohlins rear shock for my '07. $1200 bucks!!!! My god, you can do a lot of modding for the cost of that one shock!
