New brakes fitted correctly?

    Sorry, but i can't agree that it's smart to ride around on pads waiting for them to get better. You could need max braking power well b4 normal riding miles would break them in, and that's why i always go for a ride deliberately to bed-in new pads until they're as good as they're gonna get.

    When trying to bed in street pads you run a greater risk of glazing them than anything else. Race pads are different. Street pad "break-in" is mostly the pad wearing to match the contour of the rotor grooves. There won't be a great difference in stopping distance of new street pads vs those same pads after "break-in" for an emergency stop. After such a stop, check them for glazing. Glazed pads take much more distance to stop.

    That's my experience. Maybe yours is different.
