Should as far as I know. At a glance, it doesn't seem any different in fit or function than mine.

The seller who fictionalized about the 1100 mod should be outed as a liar.

Is this the appropriate place to mention I have a VF1000r for sale. It has been bored out to 2200cc and has roller rocker heads with a supercharger and turbo and still gets 60mpg?

    Maybe bored out .011?

IMO a VFR punched to 2200cc would be the perfect bike for SOW. Being lighter and less top heavy due to removed metal, the bike would not fall over so readily.

We would not be interested unless you have already done the time-travel mod to it

That's just being silly now. There is no time travel mod. It would interfere with the transwarp drive.

The mufflers on your bike are not stock. The 4 down tubes from the engine are stainless steel and usually not replaced. I can't tell from your pic, but if the crossover pipe in front of the wheel is still there, then the 4 into 2 headers are still stock and they only replaced the mufflers. There are several nice slip-on mufflers you can choose to replace the ones you have. Polished stainless Delkevics sound good and only run about $150 each.

As for right now, the gutted mufflers are flowing a lot more and it is fine to ride like that. What they cause is a slight power reduction in the 5500-6500 rpm range, but it's only noticable on the freeway. Mine are similar, I added some restriction to the mufflers (equivalent to 1" exhaust holes like stock) and I regained the power. At least up to half throttle which is fine with me. A more correct fix is to pull the carbs and shim the needles a little higher. I'll do it next time I pull the carbs, cause it's a big job.

The nose panel and side fairings are made of ABS and are pretty easy to repair. The tail section is a different plastic and requires a special plastic repair kit. If you have the missing piece it can be fixed. If not, then you'll need to find a replacement.

Since original tails are difficult to find and expensive, most folks will swap in a later model tail section. It makes the bike look more modern and newer tail sections can be bought pretty cheaply. I've even seen newer model Honda gas tanks fitting to these models.

It will fit, but it's busted up pretty good. You could probably cut up your current one and this one and take the best parts to make one good one, but it costs $210, plus all the work involved.

Sometimes I see aftermarket tail sections for our bikes on ebay. They are made by VFR Chuck of Cobalt Racing. I don't think he makes them anymore, but they show up for sale every now and then.

Airtech Streamlining just put a racing tail section for the 2nd gen on their website. One piece with a single seat. Looks like a nice piece.
