    HE did not STEAL your money but when you gave it to him you expected to get parts in a reasonable time.

    You do NOT need to replace the float bowl gasket (really it i an "O" ring) Hope you did not take them out.
    They almost NEVER need replacement. I am not kidding.

    The float needle is THE MOST IMPORTANT PART of the carb. PERIOD!!!
    Gaskets are paper.
    I do not think you have any paper gaskets.
    But just do what I suggested. I have many years experience working in Honda dealerships and other motorcycle shops.
    I started working in my first motorcycle shop when I was 16 in 1960 something and I am still working on the same stuff
    at age 60. IT is STILL THE SAME on those carbs.

    Float needle and pilot jet unclogged and float level THATS IT!!! DONE!! Read this again.

    IT does not matter how old it is the question is IS IT IN WORKING ORDER.
    A good visual inspection IS the first point to start at.
    IF you look at it and see no defects ,tears ,etc then why remove it?
    A paper gasket is to make up for the fact that two mating surfaces are not perfect.
