    It's aluminum.

PO just bend it back, seriously. It's easy.

Hahahahahaha I thought this reply was hilarious! Thanks - you made my morning!

My only constructive comment is to re-state my advice - don't use propane. It's too hot for Al (actually 3000 deg F, not 1900 like i said before...)

Propane torches are great for browning merengue on pies and Baked Alaska. Not so good for welding ABS fairing parts.

I suppose no matter what that pedal is made of short of ABS, to correct that toe-in brake procedure, aboot a foot or it's Canadian equivalent of aluminum tubing (aluminium if preferred) slipped over the pedal end and scrunched down with a torque hammer ( a Canadian invention) would serve much the same purpose as the hassle of removing, repairing or replacing that lever.

Sure it would look like shit but it would work eh?

Dude. Relax. It's just sarcasm. You didn't seem like the sensitive type based on your posts. I come here for a laugh and occasionally to find things out that other riders might know about a VFR. Like how to straighten a slightly bent lever, for example.

This has come up many times. On several occasions the pedal itself was straight. The bikes had bent frames.

Fair enough. I'd be stunned and amazed if the frame on this bike is bent - it handles and steers rock steady. The damage occurred when the PO had his bike parked in an underground and some asshole in trying to steal a Buell parked next to it pushed the VFR over to get it out of the way. The scuff on the engine casing (which I've touched up already) was consistent with a non-moving tip over. The guy at the dealer off the top of his head quoted me something like $160 which I exaggerated to $200. Everything costs more up here. Either way, I'm spending a bunch of money on a pipe, suspension upgrades, new tires etc and would rather not waste money on a pedal if I can straighten it. Sounds like a few guys here have done that with no problem. My reluctance comes from past experience trying to straighten bent handlebar levers that wound up turning into shorties faster than you can say "snap".

26 posts for a bent brake lever....if you got $6.16 for each reply, you could have bought a new one.
