For the most part we left Clayton north on 76, hung a left on 197 around Lake Burton. We then took a right on Ga356 thru Unicoi. 356 T's at 75, we took a right and then a quick left on Alt. 75. From there we took a right on the Richard Russell Hwy. If it wasn't so foggy we would've continued on over the mountain to 180 then we'd go left to Ga.129

No Problem Ed. I know you were probably unfamiliar with some if not all of those roads. Seat time is everything, with it comes confidence. Riding with a group isn't going to help at all until you improve your skills. Work on the basics, being smooth with steering imputs, picking and maintaining the proper line thru a corner, proper gear selection and corner entry speed. An empty parking lot is a great place to work on hard braking along with smooth and fast up shifting and down shifting. Practice, practice, practice.

Well, do whatever you need to do(brakes/downshift)to adjust your corner entry until you can do it without crossing the center line. Slow in, fast out. You also need to factor in road/weather conditions. Cold wet roads = cold wet tires= slower corner speeds. Had the roads been warm and free of gravel i would have been able to go faster for sure. Everyone's skills and degree of confidence is different but a man's got to know his limitations. Riding over your head will only end up badly.
