I hope to have it at that point soon. The forks are 6 inches over the stock set. They are off an 82 Honda FT500 and I used them to determine the amount of rake before I did it.
A pic when I was still laying it out before the hardtail and down tube work...

Todays progress. Set in the fender, not quite straight and where I want it yet. Got the box built for where most of the electrical is gonna go & mocked it up to see how its gonna sit.

Spent today building the pan for under the seat and several scrapped ideas on building the seat. Think I got it nailed down on how to build it. Got one more day off before work so maybe I can sit on a real seat so I can start to brainstorm on foot controls

Still no seat. 2 plans today that got tossed back into scap and spare parts. Work next 2 days. Maybe a new plan will come to me durring 2 12hr nite shifts as I go to work for a couple days. Got the fender partially mounted. I've built parts for bikes before, but this bike has been part after part... and more parts to be hand made. The frame was jusst the start of the work.

I'd be happier with a bigger welder. As it is it's going to get rewelded at a buddy's shop with the bigger MIG or TIG welders. My 'lil 110 mig just don't get hot 'nuff for me to feel safe about the welds. I don't mind ugly, as long as its strong.

Since the whole point of this build is to build a custom bike for under $500 I went diving into my scrap, spare parts I refuse to toss and garbage...

and found this. I kid's bicycle that my oldest daughters stripped to build their little sister her first 2 wheel bike. I wanted the shock.

After a couple days of figuring it out I had to finish the battery box before I got the seat all built. Have to finalize the cover for the seat and keep going on what ever hits me next...

Did'nt get a chance to finish the seat up due to half my day spent helping my old man out on his water well rig. Crazy bastard had knee surgery last week and he has been out roughnecking since Sunday. I DID get the tripple tree figured out. The KZ305 stem fit perfect in the lower tree of the FT500 I'm using. Lower is welded to the stem and now I have to get the upper reammed out a bit to fit.

:( Why can't I see most of the pics Hubby posts? I only see the 5 builds he was inspired by, and the wet Kawi.

No real updates in photos to post. Upper tree in in the shop to be bored out to fit over the KZ stem. May try to brave the lastest cold blast and get some more bracing done on the frame and finalize some of the welds with something hotter than my lil MIG. Time for a much bigger welder.

I was able to cut out several braces for the frame today. Was able to tack on about half of them. My crap 110v welders are no longer gonna cut it. To add insult to injury, back to work tomorrow 12hr midnite shifts till thursday am. Them gotta load up the cage and off to FT Bragg. Back just in time to go back to work. This thing is gonna sit unfinished for over a week. Stuff like this drives me nuts.

Waiting on a few parts and such I started to figure out what I could as it comes to routing the wireing. Frame is at a stand still till I get my trippple tree back from being bored out.
Since I had little to do I cracked open my free can of paint and shot a few parts i could.

I hope to take a half hour wendsday and shoot a second coat on the parts and hope the tripple tree gets done to fit the new stem. This weekend I'm hoping to get alot done and maybe some art on the top of the tank while I'm waiting on parts.
