I think my favorite section was Canyon Road (Hwy 821) between Ellensburg and Yakima. Nice road in a canyon that followed along a river. Good line of sight around most of the corners, etc. plus some real pretty scenery. I had been through that area many times in the cage, but had never been on that road before. It would be a really nice drive even in the car.

The woman on the left was Monica, a friend of Elevation from VFRD and vrombc.com. Those three (Elevation, Paul, and Monica) were a hoot...a very spirited bunch and I mean that in a very good way. They kept the party lively!

Here's the link from VFRD about the ride:

:biggrin:Jonesing for some Mexican food, headed out one morning on the BMW for Yakima. Found a neat beanery. Very hot that day. I pay up and leave and there are some folks looking at my bike. One guy says he has a BMW too. He's a retired doctor.
"Where are you off to?", he says. I tell him 821 to Ellensburg and then home on I-90. He cautions me to be very careful on 821. I tell him I ride carefully and I know about the cops who patrol that section from the air.

He tells me he assumed that but on hot days sometimes the chicas tube the river sans tops..

Rdubb we missed ya buddy. I even thought of you a couple times... actually I was swearing at you for moving away

Honestly there were so many cool roads that it was kinda hard to keep track. I would have to agree with hootch though the canyon road was awesome aside from the wasp that was making the inside of my helmet home  It was the highlight of day 2 IMO (not the wasp but the road). The scenery was fantastic. Having the contrast of the desert to the greens of the mountains was a real treat. I love WA!!!

chomper did an awesome job of leading. His efforts let us followers take in the sites.

Here's a slow shot of us rolling into Chelan, so you can see more riders (please excuse the smudge on the lens - just left of center) it looks like JS and elevation are behind me, at this point.

I have tons of video, I'll have to burn it to dvd for you guys. There is probably 1.5 hours of it (lot's of it is being stuck behind cars though!) which is about 6GB, so uploading would take a lifetime. My free photobucket only allows 100 mb files, which is roughly 1.5 min. at high res. The camera was recording at 1280 x 720p.

Got to figure a better way, youtube maybe. I tried to reduce to .avi file, it was a lot smaller, but looks like :bs:

Got here in Germany in may. Was in Korea the past year without my bike. Now that I am here, many rides and pics to come as long as I can stay out of the sand box.
