yep, thats how this whole VFR thing started with me,seriously I had not heard of a VFR until about a year ago,and have owned bikes for the last 40 years . Anyway I started getting interested in Police Bikes. In Pa. it's next to impossible to buy any new police bike. You can get them used, but you got to believe they have been thrashed severely.Anyway I really liked the ST-1300,but again can't buy a new one here.So the Honda dealer told me the ST-1300 was based on the VFR Interceptor, thus the interest in the bike.I now have a 5 gen. and like it alot,I still cant believe how much torque the 800 puts out. eddie cap
It's not right when they take it for exabition of speed or over 20mph over the speed limit :frown: . Sure it's OK if a felony, like a drug arrest is envolved but not for speeding, unless of course the person was running from the cops, then in that case so be it.
Well I know & met a lot of Brits, & I haven't met one yet that isn't very good on the track (damn good) , BUT I also haven't met one yet that can ride worth a Sh_t on the streets . Maybe thats why there having such a prob in England out: I've ridden both & I would take the ST over the BM'r hands down, in handling, reliability, & service life !
I rode a friend's ST1100 a little over 5 years ago and loved it. I did a test ride on a BMW LT and it is a great bike but not for me - I'd rather have the GoldWing. I think cops using a Hayabusa to Patrol is funny but not a bad idea. A lot of the cops in the New York City are using Yamaha scooters inner city on the streets. They still have Hardley's in NYC on the Highways. The cops should try the VFR and get a Police Edition.
