can I go to the auto parts store and get any 10w 40 oil or does it have to be motorcycle oil is there any diffrence
Don't use car oil. Bad for the clutch but you can use Rotella T6 or something like it for diesel engines if you want to save a little money.
Yes. Car oil has friction inhibiters that will eventually make your clutch slip. So yes, there is a difference and why I said not to use it.
I absolutely love oil threads. Never heard of a VFR engine worn out due to using the recommended oil, dino or synthetic changed as recommended. Ride the bike.
Truth. And within the VFR model lineup this is especially true of the VFR800 engine due to its cylinder sleeves (which are hot-worked, ultra-high-pressure extruded, Powder Metal Composite composed of a mixture of high-silicon Iron, Copper, Magnesium, Aluminum, and semicrystalline Carbon.)
