We all knew what he meant... It is spelled "Giga-" a prefix, and some pronounce it "Jiga-" Not sure which is correct. I've always pronounced hard-g, gigawatt. But I"ve heard educated people say, 'jig-ah-watt'. How often does it come up? Let 'em be. If anyone cared, they would look it up on wikipedia before using it. (I don't and I haven't) Too busy studying flux and intense B-field shielding.
I always thought it was intentionally mispronounced in the movie, hence my joking around about the whole thing. In my entire career, I don't think I have ever heard "Jiga-" anything. Most of the time, "Giga-" has been shortened to "Gig", as in "3 gig" or whatever. Live and learn...
