You know, whenever a disaster strikes somewhere in the world, you guys in the USA are very quick to step up to the plate. Everyone can do something to improve their image (except me. Remember my kids say I'm perfect) But i think it is high time many people in this world start showing their gratitude. Damit, I made reference to the War of 1812. In the big picture, that was not that long ago. and here we are, valued allies and friends. Just make sure when you use the word "eh", you do it right. Most down there have a tendancy to get it wrong. Go to Newfoundland and listen to them there. They have it mastered.

As far as wearing the stars and stripes, there are pins out there that have crossed Stars and Stripes and the Maple Leaf

The Comox Airshow in 03 was the 1st time I was ever in Canada as aircrew. We showed up to the hotel after "pre-briefing" at the bar on the base.

Here's how the conversation went:

Clerk: "You gents picked a lovely weekend for the airshow, eh?"

My exact words (I was drunk & admit it freely): "Holy Shit, they do talk like that."

Clerk: "So, do all you Americans think Canadians have pet beavers & mooses in their back yards & wear denim & flannel while watching Kids In The Hall?"

Me: "Sorry man, I've only been to Canada once & that was when I was 18."

Clerk: "That's no excuse to stereotype an entire nation, sir."

Me: "Dude, I really apologize, I didn't mean to insult you, I've been drinking"

Clerk: "Great, now they let you Americans fly intoxicated."

Me: "No, I drank at the bar after the flight."

Clerk: "Mr ____ (manager)? Do we have to give these people rooms?"

My entire crew is sitting there with mouths wide open looking dumb founded since I managed to alienate an ENTIRE nation in less than 3 minutes. We start to collect our stuff & ask for a phone book so we can find another hotel. Out of nowhere, he says, "I'm just kidding guy, that was easier than I thought. You must hang out with new officers too much."

I know her veiws on gun control that in & of itself is enough for me, but there's more much more. She seems to belong to that whole group of politicians that feel it's there job to save us from ourselves. If I can find any thing that appears factual I'll post it, can't sleep anyway.:sleep:

 

The only "right" that I'm aware of that both Hilliary and Obama believe in is the "right" to take money from those who sacrificed and worked hard for it, and redistribute it to those who haven't done either. And I'm not referring to those who are truly in need of help.

 

Income redistribution has got to be the single dumbest idea I've ever heard of in my entire life. Call me bigot, racist, right wing, etc... but I simply don't understand why it is that I should bust my butt & work hard my entire life just to have my money taken & given to a crack-head POS who doesn't do squat but leech from society.

I truely would consider leaving this country if such a program ever takes hold. I would rather burn my money than let this happen.
