I would very much like to attend this auspicious event in sunny SoCal. As I have just purchased a home and will be moving soon, anything could happen. However, provided I can navigate though that, and get a new set of donuts on Ruby, I will attend.

 

To paraphrase Slim Pickens..........I am depressed , here I go to all the time and trouble to fly all the way to California and try to drink up every beer in the Laguna Seca area...........and for what?

I can also host riders at my place. You have to choose from the couch, air bed, sleeping bag, futon and my bed :tongue:

 

I might take you up on that Reg IF I can get the Friday off. Things have been very hectic at work so I can't commit yet. It'll be good to see you Long (Silver Brother!) and all the SLO gang as well as the new faces too!

i was in vegas last weekend for a beer pong tournament. why spend $200 to fly when i can take the bike? left LA friday morning around 6a in an attempt to beat the heat and traffic which i did successfully. got there around 10a. did my vegas thing all weekend and woke up late sunday. so rather than sit around all day drinking and wait for the temp to drop, i decided to leave um, say, 1pm-ish. not a good idea. it was a mere 95 in vegas but once you approach the mojave/death valley (ie 15 minutes to the south) it was a steady 110º. that's 3 some-odd hours of 110º. and not standing still 110º. that's doing 90 on the freeway 110º. surprisingly, i wasn't the only biker out there. some harley's and a few japanese cruisers. granted i was the only sport bike out there. but we somehow managed to stop at the same little towns to rehydrate / shoot the shit etc.
gotta tell ya, the bike held up with no problems. doing 90 in 110º air temps the engine temp pretty much hovered at 225º which i'll get frequently on LA surface streets. the fan usually kicks on and knocks it back down to 200 but hey, i read a bunch of guys here are constantly hitting 240 so i figured she can handle it.
man, once i hit barstow and its 95º glory, i was in heaven. never thought i'd welcome 95º with such open arms.
so what i'm trying to say is, stay the fuck out of the desert from 1pm - 5pm!

As I am coming in from Boulder Colorado, my mileage will be 1,091.11 miles!!
Does that get me the Master Suite? Bed warmer included I trust :biggrin:
