What a party, and what a host! Good Times!

I wont go into too much detail about the ride down except for my own personal experiences.
As a novice there were a few challenges for me keeping up with TOE and Toxic.

    1. I have never ridden that far before. I cant put into words how bad my lower back would hurt after about an hour of riding on the freeway.
I could deal with the aching arms and hands, but my body wasn't used to it.

After about an hour of riding my lower back hurt so bad that I was literally seeing stars.
After about an hour and a half right when it was real bad, it was time to fuel up!

    Thank god, lol.

After a smoke and about a 10 minute break, I was good to go for about another hour. Wash, rinse repeat. That cycle lasted 4 times.

    2. I will not devulge the speeds at wich I was riding to make it there on time, but that was another thing that was really new to me.
Long distance at high speeds... ( remember I mainly ride 45mph to work each day, and the speed limit on 5 and 405 is 70mph ).

3.TOE and Toxic had warned me about how bad LA traffic is..... the warning couldnt have prepared anyone that is used to a small city.
Splitting lanes for 6 miles and finally traffic had broken...what a relief!
I couldnt beleive how nerve racking it was to split lanes for so long to get such little distance.
Just when I thought the nightmare was over, we crested a hill, and I saw it laid out in front of me... that break was only temporary.
We still had 60+ miles of lane splitting to go!!!

    WTF MATE?

Made it through that and somehow kept up with TOE and Toxic, I hope I didn't slow them down too much.

And then we were home free!

The golden rule of travel, or of anything in my life has been never to even think that I am home free.

About 10 minutes from our destination, while at a stop light with the others, my bike just died. I knew immediatly what it was. The charging system. The traffic, now passing me (stalled in the intersection), had no mercy on me, as I had just been splitting lanes with those same vehicles while they were at a dead stop.

    HATERS. lol.

Eventually I was able to push my bike to a safe place and call the members of my party. We had discussed my weak battery before the trip, but none of us thought it would go that same day, figured something to change when we got back.
I was praying it was just the battery and not the R/R.
Toe got me a new battery from walmart and we were good to go!
Ironicly he ran into Drewl and Long at the same walmart.
Well that was the end of our ordeals.Got to longs safely, and man I am tellin ya, that trip was worth it!

I met the coolest people I have ever met in my life!

Long - What a gracious host. I havent eaten that well or laughed as much in a long time.
I met a few people I talk to on here alot, as well as a few of the admins... Hell I met lot of really righteous people this weekend ( and I don't think I have used the word righteous before ).

Really awesome to meet all you guys ( and girl )in person, after just posting and chatting on this forum.

And of course getting to experiance it with people that I do know in real life already.

I must say one of the coolest things for me was when I was just getting ready for bed and another gen 3 rolled up!

I have never gotten to see another third gen vfr in person, or talk to another owner of one, what a night. Thanks CEBU!

It was also exceedingly excellant when the fourth member of our party somehow made it. Man if that trip was rough for me, I have now idea how he endured. Heard a gear driven cam pulling up the street and I think at least 6 of us went running out to greet the SUPERTEX! I'll let him tell his story... I bet it takes up a whole differant thread.

I got home last night at 6:22 PM and wanted to post, but promptly fell asleep at 9:00 PM-ish.

Sorry for the long post guys, but this was my first big ride, and man, it was AWESOME!

    Thank you LONG!
And thanks to each and everyone of you that I interacted with this weekend. I only get 4-5 days of vacation per year, and this was it for me, but I wouldnt have spent it any other way
I will post my pictures in a bit, I dont want my post to take a whole page:biggrin:

Really ALL of you, you made the trip worth it to a newbie like me!

They got Long on the way down too. I felt so bad, our very own host couldn't even ride the rest of the way with us cause of his leaking tire. But I felt better knowing that our excellent cheering section helped his son win their football game. "GO O'Side!!" Here's the pics of long...

My camera phone pics...not too shabby.

I noticed that alot of us were taking pics of the same stuff, so I am not going to post any that someone else already posted ( albeit from a differant angle ).
I have pics of most of ya guys and can email em' to ya if you PM me, I just dont want to flood the thread with duplicates.
Also all of the pics I took somehow don't have me in them ? So anyone with a pic of me at the party or out in S.D., if ya get the time, email em to aokutter@yahoo.com.

That said, here is what I got.

First of all just to set all of our ladies minds at ease, this was a total sausage fest
    [IMG]

Nevertheless, the way Long kept talking about TJ even the laptop needed...erm..protection.

TOE CUTTER provided plenty of tex-support ( hopefully someone has a good picture of supertex when he arrived, it was dark by then and my cameraphone doesnt have a flash )

I love this guy, even tho he can get a little nuts!

Drewl had the second best shirt at the party ( I was gonna steal it but it was too small for my massive frame )

Our gracious host and the man that made it all happen had the best shirt at the party ( compliments of derstuka ). The hat and glasses were great too but he said they were just his everyday attire.

Here is a great bunch VFRworlders at the beach in San Diego!

A rainbow over longs house. The pot of gold?
around 20 vfr's in the garage
Over 20 lbs of tritip steak
Lots of sausage with MrDens sauce ( is there a way to not make this sound gay ?)....crap its even got a rainbow in the picture.
Lots of Gin, Juice, coors light.

My departure home. After the ride there, I was a little bit nervous about the ride home, but it proved to be A-OK. ( other then the freezing cold that hit and passed within a reasonable amount of time).

Thanks again guys! I have alot more pics, and will post them as I read through the rest of the posts about this awesome event!
