Hey guys, this is my first post, long time reader/ingester of knowlegde. I have a 2001 VFR 800/ I've replaced the regulator/stator. I've also done a dashboard repair of what everybody calls "the ciruit borad". I'm an Electrical Engineer (Systems, and a lot of others). I've torn apart the front end of this bike. From what I can tell, after verifing proper voltage to the actual PCB/ciruit board that drives the PHYSICAL LCD display, is that age is wear my issue lies. I held the LCD (i'm talking just the glass, up to the light, and i can see the internal film is degreedaded. I'm not talking about the polorizer in the center of the screen (which i do have, and don't care about) but the edges of the screen wear the translation layer meets. I just want my odometer, fuel, and coolant temp back. Is there anyone that has given up on a VFR of this generation or anyone that is willing to give me the part i need? This bike has sentimental value and is in good shape. I'll keep her going regardless but it would be nice to have these statuses back.

Also, I have physically wiggled the LCD, without the plastic spacer to determine the PCD/MCU IS alive, the problem lies with the wearing of the LCD's inner layer itself, not power to board (i've basically jumped everything that was consider marginal).

As always, I appreciate help from the community.[IMG]
383 mile trip in AZ, 6 hours. Thank God I friends, that were considerate of my fuel requirements (i knew we had a 220 mile-ish range but we fueled every 150ish).
    Cheers guys
