A few pics of the Euro with the new helmet cam setup. Also the other clamp-style version, which I haven't tried yet.

I found a few places the clamp could go and will just have to continue to experiment and see what works best.

Also.....soliciting opinions on whether or not to do any stickers on my helmet? I don't really mind leaving it like it is, push come to shove.

Hmmm.... I don't see a helmet in any of the pics. I see something that looks like part of a costume maybe.

I still have this red/maroon one but tend to wear the black one when running around town more when not going too fast.

Yeah... up to about 35, your face meeting pavement isn't really too bad I guess.

I seriously thought you were just showing an example, like the pic of the green "motorcycle handle".

Please don't tell me you don't wear gloves when you're not going too fast either.

And that Maroon helmet is WAY past needing replacing.

You ride powerful V4 sport bikes. It is seriously time for you to up your helmet game. And it seems like you can afford it.

If it's too hot to ride with a full face helmet, and gear, it's too hot to ride for me.

Please, Please , Please only wear a full face helmet.

Statistically most bike accidents involve the head and face hitting pavement, nasty at any speed.

If I go to the store 10 min away, I were leather head to toe with armour inserts, body armour tech vest, boots and gloves and a full face.

if its 35 degrees Celsius, I still wear it all, I just leave the insulated liner out of the jacket

If I ever forget the tech vest, I turn around and go home to put it on.

Just my 2 cents, of course.

On the clamp....not sure I would trust a "squeeze" clamp for my go pro. I'd prefer a screw twist style to clamp onto the bike. I'd worry a good jolt could pop that squeeze clamp off and send the go pro skitteling down the road.

ATGATT. I don't even own a half helmet or ever worn one. I can't even convince myself the Arai fold up front helmet is safe enough. I went through 4 Arai during my racing career with a shit load of gravel still embedded or inside of the helmet (granted i was racing).

To each their own, but my wife is really glad we spent the money on the good stuff. This summer I am going to take a solid look at the new Alpinstars Supertech R10. I like the look and would like to try something other than Shoei, and Arai. I think I can get a test ride when I am at Seca.

Arai rider since '92. Doohan replica was my first helmet.

Arai rider since '78... at 9 years old. It was my only 3/4 helmet in my life, but I wore a Scott goggle / face guard combo on my 1976 TL125. I couldn't touch the ground and had to start and stop at a stump.

My next off road helmet was a real Arai Motocross helmet.

My 16th Birthday present was the Arai Supervent Freddie Spencer and being told my parents would match every dollar I earned for my first street bike. Which in 1985 was a 1984 VF500F with 1500 miles.... for $1500.

    Nothing but Arai ever since.

BUT... many manufacturers are making great helmets these days. If it fits your head properly, there is a safe, quality FULL FACE helmet for every budget.

35mph impact. I'd be eating through a straw for the next two years if I survived and wasn't wearing a full face. My little incident last weekend would be very comparable to hitting a car pulling a left in on a divided highway, and then somersaulting over the hood.

Far be it from me to be the fun and ATTGAT police. But wear a full face helmet. A lot of the street helmets have flip down sun visors that make wearing them a convenience too.

Actually, for another point of convenience related to goPro mounting... there are a lot of helmet mounting options to the chin if you're not looking for hard-wired cameras. HJC F70 in solid colors on closeout at Sportbike Track Gear for $156 shipped. https://www.sportbiketrackgear.com/hjc-f70-solid-helmet/

I am definitely not the Helmet Police, but my my helmet says wear a full face every morning I walk past it. My last race wreck. Basically an 60mph high side. The original wrecked visor was not torn off, but did suffer serious damage. image.jpg image.jpg

I did the same damage to my helmet on a city street at about 40km/hr when a jaywalker stepped off a median island in front of me; I swerved to go behind him, he turned back for the safety of the island, and we collided. I got sent over the top of the island pretty much face first. I'm no looker now but it could have been much worse.

    Good evening everyone!

Took a few more videos today - early evening - plenty of light but less traffic!

None are worthy of uploading to YT let alone sharing with anyone else.

The ones I used the clamp on were too noisy and the helmet ones had too much head movement - something I can work on going forward.

None of them really represented how nice the engine sounds and overall had too much wiggling/shaking.

Some of this is probably attributed to the low quality of my camera.

I stayed on the roads around my part of the beachside here and most of them have their share of cracks, bumps, lumps, and uneven surfaces so that didn't help.

I know there are some other contributing factors so there's plenty for me to work on going forward.

My next step will be to try this on a different bike and a different section of town with some better roads and see if that helps.

Thanks again for all the input and advice! ;)

GoPro "Windslayer" for about $10 solves a lot of the wind noise issues cheap.

Regarding the shaking--you're going to get that with those long ass mounts, unfortunately. There's no real way around that.

BAZZZA gonna be a rock star! yeww
    you heard it here folks!
Actually I am going to take vid on my son riding from my bike so he can see how he rides and we can improve line, braking, and general stance. He is really not that far off with the basics, but who doesn't like vid of themselves? :)
