Is VFR Interceptor a "crotch rocket"?

No, it is not.

 

Every time one of my harley friends say crotch rocket. I call there bike a slug. Because its slow and ugly.

 

I can't say I agree with this in its entirety. I don't have any friends who ride harleys.

Crotch or Sport, my insurance co. (home & auto) Farm Bureau would not insure it,
said they only insure cruisers and atv's. So we must be in a high risk
category?

I would say, since progressive is only charging me $80/year insurance premium, it's definitely not a crotch rocket lol.
But, my last 1/4 was 10.82 @ 127.4 and I think I could get into the 10.7#'s now, so maybe it is? lol

 

That is what I pay a month here in Canada! and I have a good rate compared to a lot of my friends and it is listed as sports touring..

 

Bloody he**... I'm paying roughly ten times that in insurance...

When I first got the bike and I was a young squid, it was $456/year. Eight years later, in a better zip code and no claims, they dropped it down a bunch. Also I bundled it with auto insurance and owning a home helps too.

I'm with Progressive for my 4Runner and 3 motorcycles. All 3 bikes cost me less than 600. They are great for adding on extra bikes just a few more dollars. . CBR 1000rr, VFR. and a DR 650. The dirt bikes are not insured! lol

 

Up here they will not give discounts for bikes. I have 2 houses and 3 cars and still no bike discount. If I were to get a second bike it would probably cost near the same again. I'm only paying $60 a month for a 2010 civic coupe with full coverage but a 2002 VFR is $80.

 

I just call mine a couch rocket. Lol

LMAO - I'm gonna post a screen shot for posterity :glee: Interesting that currently 6 voters say the VFR either is or may be a crotch rocket and presumably all the members voting here have above average motorcycle knowledge. So I would assume then that the average person on the street would be even more likely to categorize the VFR as a crotch rocket.
