Is my bike a POS, or is it just me?

Thats another thing. I do really enjoy the rarity and uniqueness of this bike, therefore I dont want to chop it up with say a later models forks of somthing f2 rims. I would assume somthing like a rear shock would be more or less interchangable. Tires are deffinently somthing I'll be changing. As stated before I'm not exactly trying to keep up with my friends, more or less trying to feel as confident in my bike as I do in theirs. I so far have the most road experience out of the bunch of us as I do a lot of riding by myself. I'll check the front shock pressure(air adjust) and see if its needs adjusting. Tires are deffinently more than 6 years old but have been sitting almost all of that time in a garage. I suppose next spring I'll be getting some new tires( thinking pirellis or pilots) whatever is the stickiest that will work with my rims.

That bike was technically advanced--in 1983--but now it's a dinosaur, too heavy, mediocre brakes, suspension and tyres, not to mention the cam oiling issues which represent a fatal flaw in the design.

For lots of reasons, the modern era in motorcycles began in 1986 with Honda's introduction of the VFR.

A good modern 600 purchased from craigslist for about $2200 would easily surpass that '83 in every way and be safer to ride.
