I think that this was an early 2002 Model (in the 2001 Year). Cause THIS one... IS a 6th Gen....

I appreciate all the wants for my safety.

Being a practicing auto mechanic, and a pretty good body man, I can spot stuff that is "off" pretty good. I also understand the need on a bike for a straight frame is much more important on a bike than on a car, so that is why I will be paying particular attention to the bike.

That all being said, Sills is also trying to get me to look at a 2006 VFR that they have on the premesis. It is new and still has the factory warranty. If the 05 doesn't look good, I'll go take a look at the 06 and see just what they would be willing to take for it, but 5K is my limit, and like I said, it needs to cover a LOT of stuff before I'd take any bike.

    Josh,

This is mom speaking. I know you are surprised to find me on a VFR BB. It's because mom loves you. Mom also thinks you should look around more instead of buying a junker.

Get the Vin and post up the first ten numbers. If the tenth number is a 1, im sorry, but its a 5th gen. If its a 2, then you are fine.

If it is a 1 on a 6th gen frame, its a fake vin, report it and walk away.
