I have a torch and air tools and plenty of "frustration time" logged with stubborn bolts. Having a 40 year old RD 350 will keep you up to speed. lol

Found the problem after I removed the ignition. The upper part of the ignition (Keyed) you can remove from the lower mechanical part by removing 2 Torx screws. They are the dimpled kind so you have to have that type of Torx screw driver. The lower mechanical part you can not dissemble easily as they use the type of self destructing screws in assembly. All threads are destroyed during assembly. But I was lucky, there is a male tab that is on the keyed side that indexes with a female side of the mechanical side and they had somehow separated. So you could turn the key and it was not turning the mechanical lower part. Put it all back together and it works fine now. As to the cause I don't know. It may have been barley working since it was manufactured. A friend asked if I had slammed the front down in an aborted wheelie but that has not happened.

Makes up for a few of the "5 minute" jobs that turned into epic frustration and drinking binges.
