The mostly blackout treatment looks nice.

Here's another part of the "thing" I did when I got the Black Hawk...

    PXL_20240216_030231286[1].jpg

Full Two Bros, Stage 3 carbs. Title, 36K. New Michelins. Need to verify/clean the carbs and rebuild a petcock.

    And...

    PXL_20240216_030610761[1].jpg

2100 mile motor and chassis. No title. Don't care, just nice to have that engine and swingarm. It was already pretty bare, but I stripped off what remained, like the brakes and calipers. I did get the speedo off of it that verified it's mileage, but the original tires, chain and sprockets confirm it. Those aren't the original forks, I removed those as well. Those are just to keep it a roller until I pull the engine and swingarm.

F'n cool! I was thinking if my son does not want to take my Hawk, maybe I will go track day it. I think I just need a clutch pack rebuild and carb sync. My wife said I will be bummed that I am going so slow. lol

Finished up a little project I've been working on for a couple weeks. First I replaced the green aluminum water bottle / coolant tank that was resting on the sliders and zip-tied to the frame with a silver one. But I wasn't gonna have that be my long term solution. I was going to install a stock coolant tank, but I do like having that area open on this bike. So I started thinking and looking at some alternatives.

Well, this is what I came up with...

    PXL_20240305_012423299.jpg

    PXL_20240305_012432130.jpg

Capacity isn't huge on the aftermarket aluminum tank, but it holds more than it looks like. It actually holds as much as some smaller Honda tanks I've used on a VFR and VF1000R when I needed some space.

    PXL_20240305_012446560.jpg

Modified some car racing chassis brackets, made the threaded aluminum backing plates and used some titanium tubing to hide the exposed threads on the stainless button head bolts.

    PXL_20240305_012519416.jpg

Tucks in pretty nice and the hose routing worked out great.
