I got a nasty smelly skunk here-killed five chickens and even attacked the dog a bite his ear and to top it sprayed him too. If I see him around I put a bunch of holes in that stinky bustard. :spy:

Nothing like getting up close and personal with a skunk. Been there, done that. Tomato juice does not work.

Save your pistol for target practice and don't put yourself in situations where you feel the need to carry it.

And for Christ's sake, get a varmit rifle, one shot to the head. Don't maim it.

I only use it for target practice and I don't carry it around either-just sits in the closet. You should have seen the poor dog- Mocue after the skunk got though with him:smash:

SOW should turn that pistol in for a calculator. 1200 chickens for 27,000 pesos? Or is this a scheme to pass off chicken for real cat meat?

BB are you happy now, 10 shots and the piece of junk broke-recoil spring with cheapo plastic end can't put it back together-I know its not me
spring bent- the world has gone -can't even make a last a full mag. I guess I send back for repair-lifetime war for the pistol, so much for the great reviews

With all the Brain damage here Sig fraud would have a field day:banana: It would seem just like the VFR it takes a while to learn new things whatever they are. I try to learn too fast so I am going to slow down. With everything changing so fast, it maybe a good idea to shut off all the noise and just concentrate on what ever task- I think target shooting does teach you this as well as sharpen up you eye insight. Words of wisdom. Remember the guy next door is crazy too. It would seem it is hard to avoid insanity when you have Bad Billy given you advice:stickhorse: I am lucky to have such a great crew here to help me!:bluesbros:
I called Taurus and they are sending me a recoil spring in ten days-I have my doubts if this will fix it- and think I will have to send in for a full repair-lifetime war for the gun- no lifetime war for the owner-this means the Gun has better health Insurance than I do which is very Funny! When my recoil spring failed because its rod is made out of plastic instead of steel like a glock use's. Plastic hitting steel real fast is going to fail. Now I am a gun designer better than Taurus-can it be I can redesign a gun after just 10 shots of experience!:mechanic: I don't expect this model to ever be reliable.

Lots of handguns from reputable manufacturers use a plastic guide rod. The Colt Mustang comes to mind, among others. To be on the safe side, I would suggest taking your piece to a professional for a good once-over. A malfunctioning firearm is nothing to be toyed with by someone with admittedly limited experience. Don't become a statistic man.

I tend to agree maybe this part will work for a while and then fail- I will just try the new part out-then send back to Taurus even if it works. I think Taurus is just trying to cheap out by not telling me to return it. I will play their game but will send it back for a check over- there is no way I can trust this pistol without a look over by Taurus.

Any gunsmith will be able to look at it and discern whether it was a guide rod issue, or something a little more serious. Unless you re-assembled it improperly after your initial tear down (If I were a betting man....), there is no reason a guide rod from a company like Taurus should malfunction and break after a mere 10 rds down range. Which model did you purchase?

actually there reason to worry, Taurus paid out 39 million on the older model pt111. I have the fixed version the pt 111g2. the old version would fire if dropped, the new version that problem was fixed. But a google search turned up the same problem I had a crooked recoil spring with plastic ends- to me it looked very cheaply made. I called Taurus again and asked if they might have upgraded this part-they said no. So I either just a bad part or perhaps worse a defectively made part. I may have damaged it too by not reinstalling the spring recoil correctly-then you have the firing pin maybe with a pinched spring. I believe it can be fixed correctly but not by me-that means no matter what I am sending back to Taurus because it will only cost me a shipping charge to have Taurus look it over. I tend to think it the old lemon in the factory, sometimes they may send out a dud, it just needs them to actually have someone make sure it works. I wonder if they even bother to see that they work when it leaves the factory.:eek:hwell:

You complained about a long trigger pull. Just wondering, did you pull the hammer back on the first shot? Or is it like this with every shot.

Edit: forgive me if I haven't paid attention.

the recoil spring is bent and won'tstay in the slide, Taurus sending new one which may fix it. Taurus has like 12 gunsmiths in Fl repairing stuff-so they are the real experts at fixing their stuff. Nothing for me to do till the part gets here.

We never pulled the hammer back when we packed the .38. That really slows down your accurate firing time. You learn to feel the double click in the finger.

When we got our 9mm, shitty as it was, this particular Smith and Wesson was designed to our specs and did not have a hammer that you could pull down. But the semi auto really had a huge feeling difference from the revolver. There was not pre-click in the trigger on the 9mm that was present on the revolver.

I am sure it was some fucking bean counter in Ottawa who decided we should be carrying a pathetic 9mm instead of a glok .40. That's what they issued us when I left the mounties and joined the transit police.

Speaking of plastic, that glok was more plastic than metal. Talk about a stiff spring in the mag (14 rounds) when you are loading that fucker up dozens of times when you are qualifying. Got so used to doing it by hand with the 9mm, I was used to not using the loading aid. My thumb still hurts and that was some 8 years ago.
